DupeRazor Duplicate Files Removal Kit offers to help clear up space on a computer by seeking out and destroying duplicate files. While it provides great results, its speed was a major concern.

The duplicate remover's interface is very simple and only offers a few variations, which kept us on task. There is a brief Help file, but the program is intuitive enough that we didn't need it. The program offered us the option to alter the size of our scan from the entire C: drive down to a single folder through a simple file tree. The scanning process kept us updated by telling us how many duplicates had been found and what percentage of the area had been scanned. Once complete, a comprehensive list of duplicates was listed and allowed us to either keep or delete each. The program's finest feature was a small button that allowed us to view each dupe file before deletion, ensuring we didn't toss out important items, especially photos. While the program worked smoothly at discovering and eliminating duplicates, we were disappointed that the scan was so slow, taking several minutes to complete the job.

DupeRazor comes with a 30-day trial. The program leaves folders behind after uninstall. Even though it worked well, we do not recommend this program because there are others that perform the task faster.

This Duplicate file Finder software was not bad. I have tested this software with over 20 other Duplicate file finder softwares on download.cnet.com and I give this software 3 stars because other software which were free tested a little better in terms of convenience, user friendliness, features and accuracy. Keep in mind that only 2 of the 20 Duplicate file finder softwares that I tested were better than this software; other Duplicate file finder softwares just failed miserably. In my opinion, "DupKiller" and "Fast Duplicate File Finder" tested better than this software. Based on my tests this software did a worsen job comparing to some "Duplicate file Finders" which were free. That was very surprising. I gave this software 3 stars not 4 stars because other softwares tested a little better in terms of convenience, user friendliness, features and accuracy. In my opinion "DupKiller" and "Fast Duplicate File Finder" tested better than this software.

Fairly quick. Does identify a large number of (potential) duplicates.

UI is utterly horrible. Doesn't scan for duplicates based on content of the files.
Summary
Tried using it to compare files on a customer's drive that had an uncertain but large number of possible duplicate files. Correctly identified all the duplicates, but also identified *everything that had the same file size* as a dupe. There is no way to determine what qualifies as a duplicate item, and indeed, some of the "duplicates" were vastly different in terms of actual content, but shared the same file size. Furthermore, the UI is absolutely hideous. Utilities should have a nice, clean, utilitarian look, whereas this program looks like all the designer's previous projects were keygens and crack utilities. Combine that with the shoddy duplicate detection and I know I won't be using this program on any more projects.

It cleaned out duplicate files required by Adobe Photoshop. It crashed Photoshop and it's hopelessly unrecoverable. I cannot get support for this problem by Adobe.

I found the buttons for selecting duplicates and what action to take a bit confusing. I would rather see an OK button, but it's a small detail.

I copied music and picture files from from multiple computers to a shared drive. It scanned 9,000 files in about a minute - a fraction of the time that it took other tools.
