CNET Editors' review
Dropbox is a free and extremely easy-to-use tool for sharing files and syncing them between computers, and you can also use Dropbox to back up files and access them from other computers and devices (including from your iPad or iPhone, with dedicated apps for each of those devices).
Dropbox's interface is largely invisible, which is part of what makes this app so easy to use. When you install Dropbox on your Mac, you create a Dropbox folder. This is a local folder that lives on your Mac, but you can access the folder from other computers (Macs or PCs), or anywhere you have access to a Web browser. Even better, you can use this folder to share files with other people--either through a designated "Public" folder, or by setting up folders inside your Dropbox with shared access by multiple users that you choose (this solution can be particularly useful in work settings as a productivity tool, especially because Dropbox tracks older versions of files). You can also use Dropbox to back up your files online, although the biggest barriers to this are the size of your backups (you get 2GB free with Dropbox, or up to 100GB with a monthly fee) and the fact that backup files need to be located inside your Dropbox folder (there are some workarounds, though, for more technically savvy users). If you're already a Dropbox user, make sure you update to the most recent version, since Dropbox doesn't reliably do this on its own. Recent updates have added Growl-less notifications, the ability to pause syncing, and several stability fixes.
Dropbox gives you a lot of useful features for free, with a remarkably smooth interface and shallow learning curve. If you find yourself frequently transferring files between different people and computers by hand (either via e-mail or USB drives), Dropbox is a must download.
Dropbox for Mac - Back up and share your files - Download Video Previews:Publisher's Description
From Evenflow:
Have you ever wished that you could access your files from anywhere? We made Dropbox because we were tired of e-mailing files to ourselves or carrying around a USB key. Once installed, Dropbox is just like any other folder on your computer, but with a twist. Any file you put in it will synchronize both to any other computers you may have on Dropbox, as well as to the web. Furthermore, any changes you make to any of your files will be sync'd up to all your other computers instantly, across Windows, Mac and Linux. Dropbox also makes it very easy to share and collaborate on files with others.

There are others out there that offer more free storage,
however this is still worth getting as this is the most secure.Summary
This allows me access to any files in my dropbox folder anywhere. It automatically syncs across computers / phones. And best of all its free.
Dropbox is also the most secure cloud service available, encrypting files before uploading to the dropbox server.
Dropbox also makes it easy to share files with anyone else.
Bottom line extrememly easy and secure to use and free. Get it!

"Watch out for file naming issues"
Version: Dropbox 1.1.31
Pros
Excellent easy synchronization, storage space pricing is reasonable
Cons
Dropbox storage is done on a Windows server. Windows does not recognize Mac file naming conventions. See my comments below.
Summary
Here is the problem: Dropbox stores your files on a Windows serer. Windows does not recognize the use in file and folder names of double-spaces, leading spaces, (which you might sometimes use to move a file to the beginning of an alphabetic list), trailing spaces, /, \, +, -, -, =, *, &, and who knows what else. Mac OS X permits most of these (the basic rule is to avoid only colons) and so the unknowing among us innocently use all kinds of characters in our file names, over the years.
When you place files named using one or more of these characters in your Dropbox, the synchronization process will begin to store multiple copies of your file on your hard drive, each one suffixed with the dreaded words "white space conflict".
I was naïve about this and ended up with roughly 70,000 such multiplied files and folders occupying several gigabytes scattered all over my hard drive, before I finally realized what was happening. Almost everywhere I looked, I would find long lists of the same folder or file with "white space conflict" appended to the end of the name.
To get rid of the problem, you'll need to use a reliable utility such as A Better Finder Rename (which I have no relation to except being a satisfied customer) to change the names of the thousands of files and folders on your Mac that break Windows naming conventions. It takes some time to learn to use this renaming utility and $30 to pay for it. It's extremely flexible and appears to do a thorough and careful job, but it's always a risk using even the best software to rename files and folders on this scale without screwing up your hard drive in some way, so you'd better back everything up first. I spent hours using it to rename the thousands of Windows-phobic files and folders dating back over 20 years that I have accumulated in my business.
I'm spending time posting this because I have seen numerous complaints on the Dropbox web site about this problem, but not a single reviewer that I have read has mentioned it. Be aware before you start. -
