CNET Editors' note: The "Download Now" link takes you to Dropbox.com's BlackBerry site, where you will be able to initiate the download.
CNET Editors' review
Who says you can't take it with you? Dropbox for BlackBerry taps into the Dropbox.com cloud storage service to let you view uploaded files on your smartphone, including streaming music and videos. It's a two-way street--you're also able to upload files, like photos, to your Dropbox account. You can snap a new one or dig into your media gallery on the phone. If you're so inclined to share, a menu option will generate a link for you to e-mail to friends. That's nice and all, but come on, Dropbox, dip into BlackBerry's other sharing outlets, like BlackBerry Messenger and social networks.
The app is missing some of the more advanced features that Dropbox managed to slip into its apps for other mobile platforms. We understand that not all platforms are the same, but we're hoping that future iterations of the app include some offline caching. You'll need a free Dropbox account to begin viewing uploaded files. Dropbox gives you 2GB of free storage; beyond that, you'll need to upgrade your account.
