Pros
I like it because it doesn't cost to try it; really not sure about the being free part; where is the catch 22 at?
Cons
None yet except the 3d part. The detailing functions are too limited to use in a real 3D CAD drawing.
Summary
A good starter cad program for basic 2D drawings. It is not a cad program for cad operators who are keenly interested in 3D Cad drawings.

very much like the AutoDesk software you loose an arm and leg for...but it's this one is free!!!

Nothing yet, other than it has taken me so long to find it.
Summary
Well, I just downloaded it and whipped up a floorplan AutoDesk style with EASE, VERY VERY impressed and happy its 3:30am I can now go to bed and rest knowing I have this puppy with me. I expect great things from this as I use it more, but for now suffice it to say I NEVER register to make coments on this sort of thing and I have now at three in the morning has got to say something good right, pretty frick'n amazing, nice job, good work, keep it up.
AND, I'm running it on a chessy little netbook to boot.

The application is a free download (Thanks CNET) Not much difference in DS and AutoCAD Lite
Cons
Hard to get used to. .. Old habits are hard to break. . Different commands

"Very Good Drafting Program-Comparable to Auto Cad."

Pros
Clean powerful drafting program with lots of functions. Easy to use, especially if you have some Auto Cad experience. Imports and exports files with ease. For the experienced CAD user it even has features not mentioned in the Tutorials.
Cons
What very few "Cons" I've found I'm sure will be corrected as I learn more.
Summary
I'm not a CAD power user but I do use it in my job and hobby and frankly I'm amazed this product is "Free", plenty of features, easy to use, tutorials, lots of use ability built in, including features for the experienced CAD user. The only way I know of them is that a friend who is a 30 year professional CAD user was just trying out my version and was very pleased with in doing normal 2D drawings. So much so he said "Let see what it will do with this set commands?" and he was very surprised and pleased to see this DraftSights' abilities. He also told me he went straight home and downloaded it for his home office. Almost every week he is telling/showing me something new he has found.
