With this stand alone script you can start your downloads using ANY internet protocol (ftp, hotline, carracho, http,&) and ANY application (Explorer, Netscape, HL Client,&), and leave the computer alone securely: DownloadAssistant disconnects PPP, shuts down or puts to sleep your computer when downloads are complete, or if the transfer rate drops below a certain level (configurable) or if the connection with the server(s) is interrupted.

You can set the english speech synthesizer so it will give you audio feedbacks of the download status when it is in the background and/or if you are away from your computer (very useful!).

It can decode and expand files using Stuffit Expander" after disconnecting

It can generate an helpful log file to know what it did for you and when.

By reducing useless connection time, it helps to prevent pirate intrusions in your system too.
