Disspy Lite is spyware- and sdware-removal software. It scans the memory, the Registry, cookies, files and folders, and removes all detected keyloggers, hijackers, dialers, spyware, adware, browser helper objects, spyware cookies, aggressive advertising, and other malware. Disspy backs up all removed files so they can be restored at any time. Spyware and adware definition updates are available daily.

This nicely designed antispyware utility costs nothing, but its performance leads something to be desired. We can't complain about the colorful and polished main window, which boasts large icons for scanning your computer, updating definitions, excluding certain areas from a scan, and accessing the program's few options. However, in our tests, Disspy Lite left quite a few well-known adware components in our PC's Registry. This version of the program lacks a real-time protection module and offers no tools for inspecting browser-helper objects or managing what programs launch on system rebbot. Since it is free, there's no reason not to take Disspy Lite for a spin, but you'll also want to make sure you have a few other more effective antispyware apps on your machine.

  "Misses a lot of keylooggers. Does not get all as suggested"

  Pros: Worked on finding non-stealth programs. Detected some spyware (one false positive) but worked well on the whole.

  Cons: Seemed to miss a lot of files. The program itself seems intact but lacks definitions. GUI could user a facelift as well. Hard to see on some pc's. Lagged pc when opening harshly on my XP.

  "TROJAN (PROBABLY VARIANT OF ONE) COMES WITH THIS"

  Pros: None.

  Cons: Panda and Bitdefender both picked mod_init (or whatever it's called) up as a trojan, NOT IMPRESSED. It has a VERY limited database of known "spyware." And I'm pretty darn sure it has a ton of false positives, unless it has analyzed this "spyware" so long they can find stuff the rest of the anti-spyware apps can't...

  My advice- Someone sue these idiots, and get them on the Spywarewarrior rogue anti-spyware list... As this is only going to affect computers in a negative way...

  Pros: Excellent product, I'm very happy with it. Caught spy cookies, adware and spyware missed by SPYWARE DOCTOR. Scan your computer very fast, also you can update their definitions for better results.

  Version: Disspy Lite 3.0

  "Looks pretty......BUT"

  Pros: Nice looking interface and simple to use, but running it on my test PC it did not find all the adware and spyware I intentionally loaded for it to find. There are other programs out there for free that are more thorough and just as "pretty" but perform better.

  Cons: Free version will not allow you to recieve daily updates to the database. This makes it useless after a while as all you will have is the orginal database update that they give you when you first download the program.

  On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I rate this a 5,simply because no updates to the database and no real-time system monotoring.

  "Excellent!!! New free weapon for malicious software!"

  Pros: This spyware remover is totally free, has very fancy GUI and it scans very, very fast. No false positive! Nice job!

  Cons: Cannot use real time monitoring, present only in registered version.
