Free and free.
Did only recover 1 of multiple files in my bad zip file.
Zip repair pro recovered nearly all of them - over a hundred.
None that I know of.
Unfortunatly i wouldn't even start up on my Win7 SP1 64 bit. Downloaded it once more - same thing.
I might not work on your computer, but check it out.
This program recovered a large percentage of files that were unrecoverable using several other freeware and trialware programs (such as WinRAR).
None so far -- it didn't recover everything, but nothing else did either. Plus it's freeware, so everything it does recover is a pure bonus.
slow on bigger archived files
after having a non apparent 'header error' (or alike) on a pea zip archive (recently created), I would have tried 7 or 8 tools to repair. Most would not in trial version, they would only report. The peazip froum listed 5 other to try, 4 failed. This works. Nothing need more be said.
so far it seems to have only had trouble restoring one corrupted file in my Zip archive. other than that everything else restored fine.
cant fix everything
Truly free and recovered my files in my zip with the exception of 1.
if its free doesnt always mean its good. This one is an absolute FRAUD. My only hope is that my Avast Professional has never let me down and it must have made sure this FAKE program did not install any spyware on my system.
It installed easily and had simple and easy interface, and had no nag screens, hidden costs etc, so it all seemed like a dream. When I run a corrupt m4a files archive for repair it all gets repaired quite quickly and I get a message '36 out of 36 files restored'. When I open the repaired archive I find its 11KB (original archive was 78MB!!) that the 'retrieved files' are 36 0kb folders with file names corresponding to the 36 m4a files of the corrupt archive.
On 2 subsequent runs of the same program on 2 different computers I get the same results.
Program is easy to use.
Does not work all the time.
Had two zip files I needed to repair. One I had deleted a file from, causing winzip to corrupt the entire CRC file. The other had a single corrupt file in it. The first file repaired just fine. The "recovered" file had the correct bit count and every file opened just fine. The second file however came back messed up. The bit count was off and when I tried to open the originally corrupt file in the "repaired" file it had the same problem as the original one.
