Disasteroids II is a fast-paced, modern adaptation of the classic Asteroids? arcade game. The game was designed to closely mimic many of the features of the Macintosh Asteroids clone Maelstrom, along with several unique features of its own.
Disasteroids II features 40 increasingly difficult levels of play, professional quality graphics, 11 types of asteroids, enemy flying saucers, minelayers, satellites, shuttles, contact mines and the ability to obtain various weapon power ups and bonus items.
What's new in this version:
- a ship control feature was added that makes one's ship more agile
- a current weapons indicator is now provided
- the most recent score for a player is saved for the duration of the game session
- enemy saucers now randomly change direction, which makes for more challenging and less predictable game play
- one can now play test levels 1-35
- all levels were re-done from scratch to be more balanced
- new game ending sequence was added
- new pause feature
