Summary: I was reluctant to download because of the negative comments. I did anyway and found it a very easy to install and use program. It does not do what I was looking for though. I want a voice to text converter. This program only creates,imports and exp... read more >>

Pros: It's simple to use, even if you're not a lawyer or something. I got to the recording feature easily, I was able to record voices without a hitch, and the sound quality, even if a bit poor, served the purpose.
If you're looking for a freeware that could record from the mic, download this one.

Pros: I've been looking all over for something to slow down recorded speech for a Spanish class -- it's hard to tell where one word ends and the next one begins. This thing works! It's small and fast and easy to use.
Cons: No complaints about the software. I still can't understand Spanish, though...

"If you know what you're doing, it might be useful!"
Pros: I haven't really used it yet, but a prelimary try out. It was able to find my microphone and allowed me to record wav files to a known configurable location. Filename appears to be based on the time in 24 hr format. Windows XP SP2 here, FYI.
Cons: The filename would be better if it included the date; ie; instead of just 224430.wav, something like: 20060329224430.wav for those of you that can't figure this out it would represent: March 29,2006 @22:44:30.
