Desktop Sprite for TOEFL iBT Words aims to help users who are studying for the TOEFL English language test. This simple program gives users a lot of information, but requires a great deal of their attention to learn.
The program's interface is incredibly simple since it requires practically no user interaction. Laid out like a stock ticker, users will find three command buttons that are intuitive to operate. Not surprisingly, this program does not provide a Help file for users, but fortunately, none is required since it is so simple. The program consists primarily of words scrolling through the ticker in alphabetical order. Each word is followed by an arrow and a short list of synonyms. Users can speed up or slow down the scroll using two command buttons on the screen. While this seems like an excellent way to pick up some English words, we feel that the program must be stared at and focused on to learn anything. This means users can't just have this scrolling while they do other work; they need to give their attention to it. The program does not offer any special features beyond the ability to drag the box anywhere on the screen. We would have liked to see something as simple as a pause button to help studiers, but it is by far not a necessity.
With a simple interface that requires attention, this freeware download's success will depend on the user's focus. Still, we recommend it for all user levels.

Most of the features are internet based. So not useful while online.
