CNET Editors' review
The Defraggler helps computer users who feel their system is running too slow. This simple program performs a complicated task that streamlines your PC's thought processes, but be prepared for a wait.
This free unlimited download attempts to bring order to your scattered RAM. When a file is created, portions of the item are spread into free spaces throughout the hard drive. As more files accumulate the computer has to work harder to piece together the puzzle that has become your specific file. This results in a slow computer. Defragmenting seeks out all these matching pieces and lines them up, making work easier and faster for the computer.
Defraggler downloads easily and is simple to understand. Its display shows users how much memory is available on their computers and also performs a search to show exactly how many files are fragmented in the entire computer. From here you can choose to defragment all or select specific files for defragmentation. Experts recommend regular defragmentation to keep computers running smoothly, so the Defraggler offers a scheduler to automatically run the program.
Defraggler is easy to understand and performs its job well. There is a strange chart along the top that seems to move for no real reason and is best ignored, but is only a minor annoyance. In addition, be prepared for a long wait time. Defragmenting a computer can take dozens of minutes. Still, if you want to improve computer performance, this is a great place to start.
Publisher's Description
From Piriform:
Defraggler is a file defragmentation tool. It differs from other defrag tools on the market, by enabling you to quickly and simply defrag the files you want to, without having to process the whole drive. Simply run it, select the file and defragment in seconds.
What's new in this version: Version 2.06.328 has added advanced options to schedule and fixed issue that could cause df.exe to abort unexpectedly.

"Pretty good program"
Version: Defraggler 2.06.328
Pros
Initial program click/open is very quick, 64-bit support is implemented, Portable and regular installer downloads are available, Download size is small and has some decent features available in the program...Overall, a good program, Plus it's free.
Cons
The interface should have a charcoal skin available that users can choose from (For some users, a darker skin is easier on the eyes), An Optimize function would be nice to have, Memory usage could be brought down a tad, a full defrag takes too long.
Summary
Bottom-line....This program is pretty good, and is made by a trusted company (Piriform: The company that makes CCleaner). The program itself comes with the basic features a user will need, but can use a lot more work. The program has plenty of potential, but I feel it has a long way to go to be a solid defrag program. If Piriform would fix and implement some of the cons I listed above, I think it would be off to a better start, of course that is up to the developers to decide, not me. I still think this is a pretty good defrag program, it actually showed better performance gains that are noticeable, compared to Aulogics Defrag, Smart Defrag....Which I do appreciate greatly. Defraggler is not my default defrag program because of the cons I have with it (My choice). But I always seem to download the portable version ever so often to see it's progress (Which is minor progress in my opinion). If Piriform would add and fix more, I would drop any defrag program in a heartbeat for this.....I am just still waiting :(

"Doesn't Do a good job"
Version: Defraggler 2.06.328
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
When I anaylze it says 36% fragmentation and after I defrag , it tells me it is 35% fragmentation. So It is not defragging throughly.
Summary
Defraggler jst does not defrag my C Drive as it should .
-
"Better then smart defrag."
Version: Defraggler 2.06.328
Pros
Fast easy secure coming from a company I can trust to fix and make my computer fast and easy again.
Cons
Smart defrag caused me so many problems when I had it so I switched to this and its been awesome for me :). I have no cons bout this what so ever.
Summary
If you are sick and tired of Smart defrag and windows defrag switch to this. I promise you wont regret defraging your system with this.
-
"Better than base defrag tool"
Version: Defraggler 2.06.328
Pros
Easy to use, implicit interface, versatile enough for basis work.
Cons
Does not compare to professional tools but for the price (free), it is a good start.
Summary
This freeware is a good product to have and did a good job in testing per-file de-fragmentation as well as full drive. The full drive took a while though but no more than Windows' defragger while its interface is much clearer. Amongst the freeware out there, this product stands tall and I would recommend to novice or advanced users (looking for an intuitive non-cluttered view).
