Publisher's description

From SoftSphere Technologies :

DefenseWall HIPS protects you from malicious software (spyware, adware, keyloggers, and rootkits) when you surf the Internet. Using the next generation proactive protection technologies, DefenseWall helps you achieve a maximum level of protection against malicious software, while not demanding any special knowledge or ongoing online signature updates. DefenseWall divides all applications into trusted and untrusted groups. Untrusted applications are launched with limited rights to modification of critical system parameters, and only in the virtual zone that is specially allocated for them, thus separating them from trusted applications. In the case of penetration by malicious software via one of the untrusted applications (Web browsers), it cannot harm your system and may be closed with just one click.

Version 1.21 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"Pay 29USD once - no updates - beautiful new technique protection software!"

by Rivalen on February 23, 2006

Pros: Ver 1.32 is out. In default mode its more or less "set and forget" and gives extremly good protection when surfing and emailing.

Cons: This one is the "Jewel in the crown" when it comes to protection while surfing and emailing. Sandbox-HIPS technique at its best. You mail and surf out of a virtual "sandbox" and any malware cannot reach out of the box into your true C:!

See to it that your browser(s) and emailclient(s) are untrusted. Then its set to forget. No popups no costly updates. I have never felt safer. I recommend you use a free AV as a complement/assistant to this beauty. This means your costs for extremly high level of protection stays at USD 29 - once.

When you download a program that you are not sure if they could have added malware on to it - see to it that you learn how to execute the downloaded file as untrusted; from Explorer I suggest you do not just doubleclick - instead rightclick the file and choose to run as untrusted under Defensewall - if no malware is executed its a clean program and you can later install it as trusted.

Also installation from CD or disk can be protected by adding D: and A: to DWs untrusted list - learn more from help-file or support forum.

All apps has their learningcurve - Defensewall is very easy to learn.

Best of all - DWs email-support is truly fast and absolutely great. Internet supportforum is also available and highly recommended.

So surf safer and at minimum cost with this outstanding new sandbox-technique software!

    Best Regards

    "I second Rivalen."

    by CogitoErgoSum9 on March 10, 2006

Pros: DefenseWall is basically a twin-turbocharged and relatively easy to use version of TRUSTWARE's BufferZone, DropMyRights, AMUST's eCondom or Sandboxie. On my system it consumes a modest 7Mb of RAM. Coupled with excellent customer service, it is my opinion that DW, at a cost of $29, is a bargain considering the level of protection that it offers.
