Debut is a simple, easy to use video recorder that lets you capture video files directly on your PC using a webcam (video camera), or capture device (from video). This software can also capture and record almost anything that can be played or displayed on the computer screen. The program saves the video on your hard drive as avi, wmv or many other file types. Featurs include: recording audio with the video (optional), multiple video and audio encoder settings, ability to adjust resolution and framerate of the output video, color settings for the output video can be changed, lets you record for set specified durations (h:mm:ss). Version 1.31 updated video engines for better performance, FLV encoding, snapshot saving feature.

Version: Debut Video Recording Software 1.31

"Completely useless program"

Cons: It literally doesn't do anything. After installing it, I tried to run it, which put a little icon in my system tray, but nothing happened when I clicked on it, right clicked on it, double clicked on it, or whatever. No menu, no interface. nothing ever came up, so I couldn't do anything with it at all. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the program. Same thing. It just leaves its icon in the system tray and won't seem to let me do anything with it. Maybe it got corrupted in the download, but I'd think I might have got an error message when trying to install it if that was the case. But as useless as it is, since some reviewers here seem happy with it, and I really do need a program of this type and have yet to find anything else suitable for the price, I'll probably try downloading the newer version here and give it one more chance, in case there was something wrong with my first download of the program.
