From NCH Software :Debut is a simple, easy to use video recorder that lets you capture video files directly on your PC using a webcam (video camera), or capture device (from video). This software can also capture and record almost anything that can be played or displayed on the computer screen. The program saves the video on your hard drive as avi, wmv or many other file types. Featurs include: recording audio with the video (optional), multiple video and audio encoder settings, ability to adjust resolution and framerate of the output video, color settings for the output video can be changed, lets you record for set specified durations (h:mm:ss).
Version 1.2 adds .MPG, .3GP, .MP4, .MOV support.

Pros: Found the laptop camera instantly, turned it on and was ready to record in no time at all.
Cons: Can't save to FLV flash video format.

Pros: Installed very quickly, worked straight away, big buttons that you can't miss!
Cons: Audio seemed to be out of line slightly, though that MAY be problems at my end.

"Fantastic small prog,works ok, avi-heavy on filesize wmv ok for screencapture."
Pros: quick and easy to use . thankyou to nchsoftware for sharing
Cons: make sure to do a few trial recordings to get optimum filesize. i filled 40Gb! before i changed to wmv. setting.

Pros: Does what it's supposed to. Video quality is decent when doing screen captures, comparable to commercial software. Very user-friendly interface.
Cons: It clutters your Start menu with about 30 icons for other software you may not need (not spyware though, and it all seems to uninstall cleanly.)
