DAEMON Tools Lite is a slimmed down version of the more powerful Pro app, but it still gives you the ability to add up to four virtual drives to your machine. You can also create basic disk images and compress them to keep all the information you need accessible without taking up a ton of space on your hard drive.
Pros
Free option: If you want to use this program for commercial purposes or if you want guaranteed technical support, you'll have to purchase a license for $19.99. But if you only need it for personal use, you can use it without limits, although without support, for free.
Straightforward interface: There's nothing fancy about the interface of this app, but it makes all features clearly accessible. That means that even beginning users will get the hang of basic operations pretty quickly.
Customizable hot keys: To further streamline the user experience in this app, you can customize hot keys to carry out certain functions. These settings are accessible under the Preferences tab.
Cons
Ad bar: When you first open the app, the column on the right-hand side contains a message letting you know that if you don't opt out within three minutes, the app will automatically start accepting ads. Of course, it's nice that you can opt out. But if you don't notice the bar right away, you may find yourself suddenly bombarded with ads.
Bottom Line
With lots of features and a functional interface, DAEMON is a good choice for beginning users or those who don't need more than a few virtual drives.
From Disc Soft:
DAEMON Tools Lite is a virtual DVD-ROM emulator based on a SCSI miniport driver. It emulates max. 4 DVD-ROM drives and works with CD/DVD images created by many burning programs. It is great on notebooks without a physical CD-/DVD-ROM drive or to save akku power and speed up CD/DVD access. In opposite to other CD-/DVD-ROM emulators DAEMON Tools Lite doesn't use a proprietary container format. The advantage is that you can burn the images you're using with DAEMON Tools Lite right away or just test an image before burning it to see if it was created correctly.
DAEMON Tools Lite works with most image formats. Moreover it has a special feature to make physical (burned) backups of your CD / DVD images when it is possible. It supports Alcohol 120%-Images (MDS-Files) and RMPS-Media. It's also great if you want save Power on your Notebook.

Pros
Used to be the best mounting program.
Cons
Installed 3 different forms of bloatware without my permission. Some could not be uninstalled like Chromium which just kept hijacking my browser and redirecting me to their crap site.

Pros
This product used to be very good, simple to use and intuitive. Now it doesn't matter how simple it is, read the cons.
Cons
Daemon Tools is now such a mess of PUP's, malware, adware, and other garbage that Norton won't even allow it to install. Norton quarantines the file during the installation process to prevent those multiple harmful files from being placed on your pc. It's a real shame.
Summary
Unsafe to download or install. Scan with any anti-virus program before you install if that's your decision.
Everything is good, as given. Works well with all the features provided.
Cons
The download file 1 MB that they provide doesn't download the setup. Every time I've to try at least 3-4 times before the download succeeds. Either provide us the full file directly or fix this.
Allows one to load disc images from the hard drive and many more things such as writing disc images, creating new images, create a bootable usb drive, use ram as a virtual hard drive, and a few more things as well that require a license. Those features do have demo modes available so you can try them out too.
Cons
Doesn't minimize to the notification bar like older version did. Can be annoying as it just adds another random window cluttering up the task bar. There is also a deceptive installer for bloatware that comes with the free version of this program. It makes you think you can't op out of it when all you have to do is click Back, and the installer will show Daemon Tools is installed and ready.
Summary
Does what it was designed to do and has many features available. Bloatware is easily circumvented by clicking the Back button, and doesnt have malware unless you download it from a bad site.(I downloaded it via CNets installer.)
