"Want a FREE LabelWriter 450"
Version: DYMO LabelWriter 8.2.2.1172
Pros
It's free, for owners of any 300 series LabelWriter
Cons
You have to wrestle with them a bit for it.
Summary
If you have any 300 series LabelWriter, call DYMO tech support (1-877-724-8324) and tell them you have upgraded to Lion and it doesn't work.
The company policy (though not publicized) is that they will let you send it in and exchange it for a new LabelWriter 450. If they want to troubleshoot, just tell them it isn't showing in your Printers & Faxes and isn't listed when you try to add it manually. They WILL exchange it for a 450 if you are persistent. -
"A few days late and a hundred-or-so dollars short"
Version: DYMO LabelWriter 8.2.2.1172
Pros
Can't tell yet, as it does not support my perfectly operational Turbo LabelWriter 330!
Cons
Does not support LabelWriters with model numbers below 400.
Summary
After complaining to tech in an on-line chat, and threatening to post lack of support to on-line Mac lists, he came back with a "for you only..." RMA to return my LabelWriter Turbo 330 for replacement with a Turbo 450. I just received notice that my Turbo 330 had arrived at the repair facility, and that a Turbo 450 was being sent to me. We shall see...
By the way, this review applies to Lion, as my LabelWriter Turbo 330 was working just fine without the software update on Snow Leopard. But, the older software does not work with Lion. And, the new software does not work with Lion because there are no drivers for the Turbo 330 for Lion.

"Good hardware, crappy software."
Version: DYMO LabelWriter 8.2.2.1172
Pros
Hardware is good.
Cons
Cannot import old address book, except via first run wizard which does not work.
Summary
I don't have time to type in all of my v7 addresses. How hard is it to write software to convert database entries from one format to another? Don't like v8, not going to use it. Dymo has never had decent software. Probably time to invest in the competition.

"must have update for LabelWriter printer owners"
Version: DYMO LabelWriter 8.2.2.1172
Pros
I use the software a couple of times a week - it remembers regular labels, and allows easy lookup to my Address Book
Cons
If anything, more options and facilities than i will ever use
Summary
If you have the DYMO Labelwriter, then this fully featured software update is a must have

"Works for me"
Version: DYMO LabelWriter 8.2.2.1172
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have used a LabelWriter 330 for many years. The interface of previous versions (6 onward) worked but was not efficient. Setting these up originally was a nightmare, even with technical support. However, 8.2.21172 works beautifully and is blazingly fast. It required one contact with tech support to help set it up, because there was one thing that had to be selected but no visible instruction to do this. I don't use the LabelWriter for anything except printing address labels. They print in 2 seconds. I note that many others consider previous versions of this software abysmal. They point out that it doesn't do various things that I don't try to do, so I don't know whether this version has improved what they are complaining about. All I can say is that for simply printing labels, it now works perfectly for me. -
"Simple. Easy to use. Sophisticated features."
Version: DYMO LabelWriter 8.2.2.1172
Pros
The software is easy to use and can use either multiple address books within itself or use the Mac OS Address Book application as a source. It is easy to manipulate and the wide range of preloaded labels is helpful, although custom labels are easy.
Cons
The documentation is iffy. When importing addresses it wasn't reliable and I found it faster to just type them in freshly. I type quickly, so maybe that is why.
Summary
The bottom line is that it is useful and since flexible. Since it comes with the printers, you can't beat it with a stick.
