Publisher's description of DVD Profiler 3.1.1
From Invelos Software:DVD Profiler can manage any size DVD collection. It is Internet connected for sharing profiles. DVD Profiler connects to the online DVD database at Invelos. Invelos maintains a constantly growing database of DVDs. Each DVD is entered by one user and shared with all users. If you find an error, you can correct it and automatically share your correction with everyone. Since the database is user-built, it will keep growing. Entry into the collection is one step. Enter the UPC from the DVD case, and DVD Profiler will retrieve the DVD profile from the online database. If you have a DVD-ROM drive, it's even easier: put the DVD in the drive and DVD Profiler asks if you would like to add it. Version 3.1.1 adds new Command File feature.

Version: DVD Profiler 3.1.1
"Excellent - best of its type."
Pros: This is one of the best pieces of database software, of any kind, that I've ever used. Simple but full-featured and very elegantly designed. Better, faster, and more flexible than the Collectorz series I've been using.
Cons: Not a con, more of a feature request ... it doesn't automatically download the IMDB info and ratings, a feature I did like about Movie Collector. It would also be nice if I could automatically convert my current database to use with DVD profiler.

Version: DVD Profiler 3.1.1
"needs work to be commercially competitive"
Pros: You can quickly enter movies to create your database. The GUI is well designed.
Cons: I entered my first catalogue without too much difficulty but out of 200 movies ten weren't listed and would need to hand enter all the information. This wouldn't have bothered me too much if the movies were obscure but these were big name movies. The time it takes to load is extreme and the flash screen stays on top while you are waiting. This keeps you from doing anything else while the program loads. There should be a print to text feature that works. Not everyone uses one note. An old fashioned ascii text report would have been fine. The read from DVD is a good idea but more often than not the windows media player pops up while you are doing it. This costs even more time. I believe this program is on its way to becoming very good but it depends entirely on customers to populate and suggest upgrades. If I wanted to design something myself then I would build an Access database.

Version: DVD Profiler 3.1.1
"Absolutely THE best database for maintaining your movie collection."
Pros: I have used this software for several years and not once have I been disappointed. It's the "All-In-One" package. I absolutely can not do without it. I do not recall any bugs. Truly a trust-worthy tool for anyone's DVD collection.
Cons: I honestly can't think of one negative aspect.

Version: DVD Profiler 3.1.1
"Didn't fit my needs -- sought something else"
-
Version: DVD Profiler 3.1.1
"Must have for anyone with a large DVD Collection"
Pros: Very easy to use.
Small cost to get the "Pro" version. Even if you don't get the "Pro" version, still very capable with more features then similair packages.
