Novices may feel they need a PhD in discology to use DVD-lab Pro, but we think it makes producing professional-quality DVDs as easy and fun as possible. Definitely not for the casual enthusiast, it allows you to master and burn DVDs at any resolution with multiple soundtracks, subtitles, access or region tests, and sophisticated navigation menus.
The app comes with a large library of backgrounds, textures, buttons, animations, and shapes to help you on your way, but designing a menu is as easy as dragging and dropping stock elements. More hardcore users can design new components using the built-in Basic-like language. The Connections panel lets you visually arrange the components of your DVD, however sophisticated it may be. Tabs are prolific and useful in its interface, and a small screen is available for on-the-go previewing.
DVD-lab Pro supports PAL and NTSC, and includes a handful of utilities for adjusting the low-level aspects of your DVD, such as the regional code and the relationship between the audio and video streams. All this power doesn't come cheaply, though, so we recommend DVD-lab Pro only to advanced users who want to design professional-looking DVDs and know what they're doing.
Publisher's description
From Mediachance :The DVD-lab PRO version is a next step in DVD-authoring. It adds features that are unheard in applications in this price category. Multiple audio, multiple subtitle support, play lists, counter and random lists, various levels of scripting even down to the virtual machine script - yet it still keeps the clear and accessible interface.

Version: DVD-Lab Pro 1.0
"One of the Best professinal Level DVD authoring Programs!!!"
Pros: This is a Truely Professinal Quality Program that any Professinal Videographer would Love..It doesn"t have an encoder But that is because Any True Professinal Would use a Proper Standalone Encoder before authoring to achieve the Best Quality...So if you want to use this Program to Put AVI or other File types on to DVD then use Something else because Professinals don"t use the Mediocre encoders Built into DVD authoring Programs....
This Program supports all of the DVD Standards Includeing a couple Non-Standard DVD Formats Like SVCD to DVD and it supports all DVD Compliant Audio formats Like Dolby AC3, Mpeg-1 Layer-2,LPCM/Wav, and DTS...It also has very Good Menu Features and Transitions....
Cons: The Only Con has nothing to do with the Program But has to do with the Fact that Poeple who don"t have a Clue how to make a Proper DVD Try to use this program like it were some sort of Newbie program and Complain because it doesn"t do everything for them...This program is Reserved for those who Know what they are doing, Hence the Word" Pro" in the Name.....

Version: DVD-Lab Pro 1.0
Pros: - Relatively short learning curve.
- Many very handy features.
- Advanced menu navigation possible.
- Easy to create professional menu transitions.
- Numerous advanced features only found on other programs costing MUCH more.
- By far the best value for the money.
Side note:
The review by rbruce states program cannot handle ac3 audio, etc. Hogwash. I've burned hundreds of DVDs with DVD Lab Pro. rbruce needs to learn what he is doing. Obvious he's doing something wrong if all 7 of his authoring programs supposedly do not work. Ignore the rating of 1.0. People should learn to use their software before they trash it!
Cons: - None so far. The program is well designed.
