"Quality results and reliable performance - very pleased"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Genuinely FREE, (NOT a so called trial, try-to-buy version)
Full function version, (NOT useless part function software)
Quality results, much better than expected.
Maximises disc space to create quality output results.
Reliable (steady) performance 100%, (NO wasted discs yet)
Provision for multi-threading for multiple CPU's (faster!)
Simple to use interface. ISO and projects can be saved.
Good process progress feedback displayed.
Option to display real-time Burn Log.
Includes a version of Tetris (safe to play while you wait)Cons
All encoding conversion of files to DVD takes time. Progress is staedy but reliable (results are well worth the wait).
Takes between 3 and 4 times the length of original footage to complete processes to final DVD creation.Summary
Tested on (old) PC. Windows XP (to service pack 3) 2.8Ghz. Intel4 single CPU 512 RAM and more than 10G free memory space.

"Really Slow & Unreliable"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Free & Easy to uninstall
Cons
Very very slow encoding video, a 2.7GB mkv file took 6 hours on my 3.2ghz single core Athlon. After all this it said the file size (4.9GB) was too large for the disk! Despite 4.3GB selected in the project settings, there is no option here for 4.9gb disk! The target bit-rate for audio/Video were both left on automatic so the program has created a file too big to put onto the disc. I have tried this three times with the same result & 18 painful unable to use pc wasted hours GGRRR.
Summary
Didn't work for me slooooooow and completely useless. There is much better software out there, very inexpensive, that does a much better & faster job of creating DVD's from multiple file formats. AVIOD this one

"A must have Program for your DVD burning arsenal"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Very easy to use. A quick read through the online guide and you are off and running. If you have a ? about any of the functions, the program has an info box that will explain the function. I have used several other DVD programs free and purchased and DVD FLICK out preforms them all if you are looking for a no fuss simple to use DVD creator. Bonus it's free.
Cons
It is time consuming to convert and burn. But this is the same for all other programs I have used, freeware or purchased. Menu options is limited but the work around is to go online and learn to create your on menus for DVD FLICK. And it's fun creating your own menu once you get the hang of it.
Summary
I have created nearly 100 DVDs using DVD FLICK. On of the key tricks to getting it right every time is to Convert video into DVD NTSC and burn using an Imation or Maxell 4.7 gb DVD-R 16X speed. Use default setting on DVD FLICK. This is what I have found to work. If you have a known workable burning combo then DVD FLICK will handle it just fine. I had to trash a few DVDs to find the correct burning combo for me.

"What a total piece of junk"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Easy to remove
Cons
I should have known...Microsoft recommended this software. It DID create a video file but will not burn it onto a dvd so you're stuck with a memory full of useless garbage. Aaaargh!! 4 hours down the drain.
Summary
It sucks. Download *************. WAY better.

"Nice free dvd burner/converter"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Nice free program that converts and burns most any vid on a blank dvd that will play on most any dvd player. great for saving media off the net to disc. Easy to use interface that takes a little trial and error but learned quickly.
Cons
None really, It can take awhile to encode and burn depending on your file size. I suppose there are other programs with more bells, whistles and speed but for free u cant go wrong here.
Summary
If surfing the web and want to burn and save some media files to disc that will play on a xbox or other dvd player, this is a handy program. Works well with youtube and others.
For best possible quality in my opinion always set the encoder speed at normal and choose best for encoding quality. It takes quite a bit longer but the results are way better than marginally better.
