Publisher's Description
From digitallyOBSESSED!:
DVD Capture is a helper application for the Apple DVD Player. DVD Capture will NOT work on all Macintosh Hardware configurations. This affects mainly non-G4-G5 Towers. It has been difficult to determine all the possible configurations that the application will not function. If your get a blank, black screen when capturing, then your hardware does not support the capture of DVD screen shots. The application enables the user to take screen captures of the DVD Player Viewer in full screen mode. The captures can be saved to a file (PDF, JPG) or placed on the clipboard. An AppleScript is provided for the DVD Player script menu that launches DVD Capture. Select "File" or "Clipboard" to assign a location for the capture.
What's new in this version:
- Improved file handling.
- Window selection capture has been disabled by Apple for the DVD Player and is not available. The capture is achieved for different sizes by controlling the size of the viewer area in the full screen mode and cropping.
- Image Events is now used to crop and convert the capture to JPEG.

"Easy capture of DVD individual frames."
Version: DVD Capture 2.5
Pros
Color and resolution are good. Allows user to select the end file as either PDF, JPEG or both. Gives the user the ability to stop and start the DVD from within DVD Capture control panel.
Cons
The program does not allow selection of a specific area of the frame. Fairly time consuming to move the captured file to Photoshop for editing. Does not allow the option of keeping the control panel on top of the DVD screen.
Summary
This is a decent program that give the user options to capture screen shots that are disallowed by default with the Apple Grab app. The developer indicates in their product summary that the application may not function with certain MACs, however, I found no issues in functionality when installed in an iMac and a MacBook Pro,
