"Great Responses"
Version: DVD Cache 1.5.3a
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using DVDCache for a couple of years now and whenever I have had a problem and told Chris about it he has always gotten back to me with a fix or more questions to pin point the problem. I reported the problem of not deleting when the Warn When Deleting was turned off and Chris responded with questions and then a solution and told me to expect the fix soon. That was September 13, 2008 10:28:55 AM and here is the fix.
Thanks Chris,
Rusty -
"I have over 5000 titles on DVD"
Version: DVD Cache 1.4.9
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
As the curator of a film library, I manage a rather large collection of film on DVD, and I've been using and enjoying DVDCache for quite some time. Not only are there many excellent features, but the developer is friendly and responsive. Over the years I have reported bugs and made suggestions, and I am always pleased with the open attitude of the developer. Any complex application like this always has room for improvement, and a good attitude on the part of the code writer makes all the difference.
Furthermore with the Sparkle auto-update framework built in, automatically downloading new versions, then auto-updating and auto-relaunching the app is as easy as can be. I only wish all developers would be as thoughtful of us.
In addition to the many nice features already built-into DVDCache, I happen to know that other welcome additions and improvements are on their way soon.
Enjoy! -

"Broke my own rule No. 666"
Version: DVD Cache 1.2.8
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I used this product for three hours; enjoying how it gathered all aspects of my DVD collection that I used to do separately. Although there is a delay while it does its search of content from other sites, it is a far cry from doing it manually.
Here's why I dumped it: when it crashed while exporting, all my work was gone.
I should be more angry, but I broke my own rule No. 666: don't trust anything that supposedly saves it for you.
Hope you have better luck. -
"Great Application"

This is a five star product. I have used DVD Cache since its initial versions. It works flawlessly and the few queries I have made for information about a particular function have been answered quickly. -
"DVDCache vs. the rest"
Version: DVD Cache 1.1.5a
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I cant understand Hillstones. DVDCache is way faster than Delicious Library and the iSight lookup works reliably with american products only (great feature for me as I am German).
The DVDCache Author is very responsive and I did not have a single crash of the program since the early 0.xx versions (more than 200 DVDs entered by now).
I tried DVDSphere (didnt like the look, crashed with import of 100 DVDs, no german localization) and DVD pedia (nice look, german localization, import worked fine but problems with the lookup of german DVDs, imported the wrong imdb information).
Finally came back to DVDCache, because overall its simply the best. -
"Delicious Library is a much better product"
Version: DVD Cache 1.1.2a
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Started using DVD Cache since the early beta days. Very slow product and not very informative.
Discovered Delicious Library from delicious-monster.com and found that it was a far superior program than DVD Cache. Much more informative GUI and uses your iSight camera to scan the barcode of your DVD, CD, or Book to obtain the info from Amazon...very cool indeed! Also, it is fully compatible with OS X Tiger, including Spotlight and a Dashboard Widget.
Almost paid the reg fee for DVD Cache, glad I found Delicious Library instead. -

This upgrade worked flawlessly. I had to contact the developer for a new registration key, and his reply was very fast!
Thanks for a wonderful product! -
"Time to go v1.0"
Version: DVD Cache 0.99
Summary

I've been using this program for almost a year. In that there have been many updates with each update adding improvements or features. Some of the features were not on my list of requirements, but most of them have become indispensable.
I really appreciate the "export to html" feature as I have Apache 2 installed and can post my DVD catalog on line for other family members to look over.
Chris has always been very helpful and receptive to reports of problems - like having a problem finding a DVD with a very common word as the Title. When this happens you can get a very long list of movies to choose from. He mentioned that I could simplify my searches by first getting the UPC numbers from the box or the Amazon ID number from their site and searching for these numbers. You only get one choice, the movie you're trying to add.
Great work and Great support! $20 I don't regret spending.
