We don't really understand the mathematical mojo that powers this nifty Winamp plug-in, but we do know it makes audio files sound crystal clear. Here's the basic explanation: DFX for Winamp uses digital-signal-processing algorithms to replace high frequencies, restore lost or diminished stereo depth, increase the perceived loudness of the audio, and add rich bass sound. The result is Internet radio and compressed audio files (such as MP3s) that sound much cleaner and richer. You won't have to dig into a mess of settings to get results, since DFX for Winamp uses only a few sliders and buttons. The full version also includes 39 presets for different kinds of music, though unfortunately, the demo lets you use only three. It also disables the 3D-surround feature, which supposedly creates a surround-sound effect from a normal two-speaker setup. Nevertheless, even the trial version of DFX for Winamp makes your MP3s sound much, much better. On top of that, it's free, and you can use it as long as you want. "Software doesn't make a noticeable difference"
Cons: A trial should let you know how a product works. Either this product has nothing to offer, or whatever benefit it might have can only be known after purchase.

"Good program not trust worthy company"
Pros: The product works as well as advertised.
Cons: I paid for this 10 feb 2007 with free up grades. The offered to upgrade me to vers 9. I upgraded, like I always have. It uninstalled the working version, installed vers 9 which did not accept my old keys. It cost me $20 dollars to get new keys.
Summary: THESE GUYS ARE DESPERATE FOR MONEY SO DON'T TRUST THEM WITH YOURS. If they had stuck to their old business model they could have continued to do well, but they got snooby, don't do business with them. Good product bad company.

"Good Software, License Ripoff"
Pros: Noticeable improvement in sound quality, but they still haven't honored their 30-day upgrade policy. I'm supposed to get a free upgrade because I bought this license less than 30 days before the new release but still have no response.
Cons: Not honoring their license policy.
Summary: Works very well, but can't be trusted with money anymore. Sound improvements are most noticeable on live and bootleg recordings that are more prone to sound quality issues. Quality of commercial recordings may not change much since they have few qua... read more >>

Cons: This product is TOTAL bs
Summary: It makes your music dull when it is turned off to give the effect that your computer's speakers are being enhanced. Try it for yourself, but save your money and don't buy th full version of this product.
