Sometimes we're surprised that publishers expect you to pay for their software. We probably wouldn't be big fans of this encryption tool, though, even if it was offered as freeware.
D.Chronos PSP Stenography System's small, crowded interface isn't much to look at, and a typo on one of the few buttons is unprofessional. A Help feature isn't included for navigating the interface. There aren't a lot of options, but even a few lines would help users get started, especially since this isn't your typical encryption program. It does password protect selected files, but instead of creating a new file, it "hides" it in an image file. There's a field to enter your password, buttons to select the file for encryption, and the .jpg you want to use to hide the file in. You can't use other image types like .bmp or .png. Once you encrypt a file, it can only be decrypted using D.Chronos PSP Stenography System. When you decrypt the file, you get to choose a name for it, but it doesn't automatically associate it with the original file extension, so you have to add that as well.
The trial restriction only allows for an encryption up to 25KB, but that was the least of our concerns with this unintuitive program. D.Chronos PSP Stenography System is an executable file that doesn't require installation, so all you have to do is delete the files to remove it from your PC. We found no reason to keep it or pay for it.
