CNET Editors' review
This impressive application strikes the right note, allowing you to see and hear guitar chords and improve your playing skills in the process. Select a chord from a drop-down list or click the virtual strings to quickly create your own chord. D'Accord Guitar Chord Dictionary is easy to use and sports an eye-catching interface that shows fingering, notes or intervals of chords on the virtual fretboard. Hear the chord with a click of the Play button; the feature works through the sound card, which the program tests during set-up. Take chords up or down a half step with the application's handy lyric tools. The sole disappointments are an overly simplistic printing output and a limited 10-use trial. Anyone learning guitar or writing songs for guitar will find D'Accord Guitar Chord Dictionary a top-of-the-line application.Publisher's Description

If you like to play any chord but don t know its name, the Chord Dictionary can tell you. Just insert the notes by clicking on the fretboard and the correct name will show up. The scales module offers thousands of different scales that you can play and practice in any tone. For each scale the software presents the correct fingering and notation. "Overpriced; chord finder misleads; better alternatives"
Version: D'Accord Guitar Chord Dictionary 3.0
Pros
The fretboard is pretty and finger positions clear.
Cons
Chord finder close to useless and sometimes misleading (see below).
Cost: $29 U.S. is excessive compared to how little this software does. There are better online tools that are free.
Lots of mouse clicks required to do anything useful.Summary
Chord finder relies heavily on bottom note as root. For example, playing Am with an E bottom note (e.g., Am/E) generates this chord: Esus4(11/b13). Perhaps accurate but excessively complex. Take away the bottom E so that A becomes the bottom note and the chord reverts to Am! Finding the chord therefore depends on the user already knowing what the root is and making sure it is the bottom note. As another example, C/G (1st position C chord with a G bass) generated Gsus4(11/13). This is an unsophisticated algorithm that will generate results that are useless and even misleading for any players who don't already know a fair bit of chord theory.
One can search and find better and cheaper downloadable software. -

"Simple to use with multiple fingering options for many chords - great reference!"
Version: D'Accord Guitar Chord Dictionary 3.0
Pros
It was simple to use and clear to understand. I especially liked the variety of fingerings for each chord rather than just one standard fingering. I hadn't played for some time and forgot some of the more unusual chords. This made re-learning easy and I can print the results for future reference. Great program.
Cons
The first time I opened the program it showed an acoustic guitar fretboard. I clicked on electric guitar just to see what would change and it has never gone back no matter what I try. It changes from right to left and every other option but it has completely lost the acoustic guitar fretboard.

"okay, but 10-use to try it out"
Version: D'Accord Guitar Chord Dictionary 3.0
Pros
Nice software but product does not give enough time to make a decision. Good design and easy to navigate
Cons
10-uses before trial expires. Come on. How about 30 days. I don't have hours to sit and evaluate all the features; therefore, I have to try it and come back later. Already used 2 of 10 allowed uses in 30 minutes. If you insist on 10 uses only then how about a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee in writing if I don't like the software.
