From CyberPatrol :Manage your kids' time online and control their surfing activities. This Internet filter protects kids against harmful websites (incl. those providing and promoting Spyware), newsgroups, and web-based e-mail; blocks or filters incoming and outgoing chat, and manages kids' time online. Designed for Windows standalone desktop and laptop PCs with a management HQ that’s password protected. It also offers ready-to-go filtering, or filtering settings can be customized to each family member. The program is compatible with AOL 9 and Apple iTunes, and lets you limit access to local programs such home finance packages or can restrict time on computer games. You can set to safeguard against abusive language in chat and Instant Messaging sessions, as well as help prevent kids from divulging their personal information. Essentially, CyberPatrol lets you choose where, when, and how kids surf the Internet.

Pros: might have been useful for blacklisting.
Cons: I installed this but i couldnt get the program to open, and when i tried to uninstall, it said that it was the incorrect password (which it wasnt), and it wouldnt let me get online. I had to use System Restore to restore my computer to a time before it was installed, i do not recommend this program to anyone.

Pros: filtered, until it got in the way. Puts up a nasty dialog. Would prefer a redirect to a 'safe' site, instead.
Cons: I absolutely have to have this software in stealth mode. Would prefer other users not know it's there, unless it blocks. Instead, it puts some nasty logon script in the middle of the window after every user login. What a pain. I exchanged a few emails with the support staff. No help there, although they were polite. I uninstalled and went looking for something else.

"Great filtering for the family"
Summary: I have profiles set up for my 2 kids and one for my wife and I. Using the time management and excellent internet filtering means I can my 2 kids can go online in safety. Easy to use once you spend 10-20 minutes playing about with the settings.
