"Problems as usual"
Version: CyberLink PowerDVD 9.1719
Pros
When it works, it works well. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get it to work at all.
Cons
No way to disable MoovieLive from appearing on screen, can't play DVD's/BD's in my WinXP MCE, tech support tried to help for weeks but ultimately couldn't do anything to play DVD's or BD and then told me to wait for the next update over a month ago!
Summary
I have always used Cyberlink but since PowerDVD 8 I've had problems getting the software to work properly. When I had PowerDVD 8, tech support actually helped me with my problem which prompted me to buy it. Now that I purchased the upgrade to PDVD9, I have diferent problems and now I can't play any DVD or BD. I paid $99 for this and I can't play anything in it. Tech support told me to wait until the next update which was over a month ago. Thank God I have a backup with Nero that can play BD because I get BD's from Netflix and I DON'T want to wait months to watch a movie. Thanks but if PDVD9 does get fixed, I don't think I want to deal with Cyberlink anymore.

"NO SOUND FOR DVDS ON HP PAVILLION; TECH SUPP IS GARBAGE"
Version: CyberLink PowerDVD 9.1719
Pros
Works well for blue-rays, integration for blue-ray support for windows media center
Cons
no sound for DVD's and technical support is complete garbage. according to them, their product only supports two soundcards
Summary
Installed PowerDVD9 when I was having an issue with playing blue-rays on PowerDVD7 after a few updates on my vista 64 system. Now, I get sound from blue-ray movies from my spdif out to my home theater receiver but not with DVD?s. I contacted technical support and after a few troubleshooting steps this is the response that I got. I?m running an HP pavillion desktop so I?m sure many will see this issue as well, so I?m hoping this will come up on searches to steer many people away from this product until PowerDVD comes up with a fix: The answer does not have anything to do with my original question, because the DVD?s have no sound at all and this has nothing to do with HD sound as described below! What a crock!
In response to your issue we would like to inform you that at the moment PowerDVD 9.0 software supports the Auzen X-Fi Home Theater HD audio card to get the lossless DTS-HD & True-HD audio and it does not support any other sound card for the lossless DTS-HD & True-HD audio. However, you may try your Xonar HDAV1.3 Audio Card at your end. -
"it doesn't work.."
Version: CyberLink PowerDVD 9.1719
Pros
I find it simple to use
Cons
It simply does not work with my Vista Home. I keep getting errors saying something is missing... I even had to download another codec that cost me additional money.

"PowerDVD 9"
Version: CyberLink PowerDVD 9.1719
Pros
No pros. This application closed as soon as it is asked to load a DVD.
Cons
The screen is filled with ads for movie downloads, netflix, etc. When a DVD begins to load, the application closes. I have downloaded the trial from three different sites with the same results.
Summary
Could not evaluate the trial version because the application closed each time a DVD is loaded. BTW, this program is NOT free, after a 30 day trial, it will cost you $70 to purchase. There are better, less expensive DVD viewers out there.
