I have problesm with it sometimes it just doesnt display all movies.
I dont like software that changes settings on my computer without my permission. PowerDVD resets your volume as soon as it turns on so that your volume is turned way up. I dont understand what the point of that is. Its just irritating and i would rather not use software that does things like that.

Pros
Easy to install and uninstall. Easier to navigate than Intervideo WinDVD 7 and plays many different files. You need DirectX 9.0c from the Microsoft website before installing PowerDVD 7. No error and no problem with this software.
Cons
PowerDVD is expensive like WinDVD and is about the same price of a DVD-player for a television set. You can also use Windows Media Player 10 for playing DVD's.

I can accept the software being spammy when they try to get you to register but associating itself with all media files without asking me first? not being able to fix this through the software? Not fully uninstalling? This is beyond annoying.

"The best DVD software, period."

Easy to use. It's really the most intutive DVD player on the market. No clumsy menus to browse through, just a focused, dedicated DVD program. Unlike MS Media Player, I don't have to sift through a bunch of other 'features' to get to what I want, nor do I have to wait while I cancel two to three internet updates before viewing. Also, the ability to take screenshots of my favourite films is nice.
Cons
There's not much I would change about PowerDVD. I've been using it for some time and have never needed more than it provides. It does tend to hog system resources though, so no downloading while watching a DVD, but that's really a minor concern.

Actively cleans memory.
Can choose to clean a certain percent of your RAM as opposed to cleaning it all in one shot.
Cons
Not free. Version 1 is worth at least 4/5 stars as it was free and still works. Hell I still use it.
Very expensive for a RAM cleaner...very many free alternatives available.
Kind of slow in its RAM cleaning process.
A real hog when running a full-fledged cleaning process.

I received powerdvd 6 along with 5 other cyberlink software titles free.They came bundled with my new graphics card(powercolor x800 gt).I was happy to get such expensive software(and games) free.
Cons
Completely overated.Not even as good as windows media player or real, much less intervideo windvd.I've tryed multiple dvd's and media clips with powerdvd and the quality is inferior.
Toyed with the settings still nothing.Also they change every file to open with powerdvd(instead of wmp,real,quicktime etc..) Don't understand all the positive feedback over a mediocre and overpriced software.
