    October 07, 2013   |   By terrynoname

    Version: Corel WinDVD Pro 11

    Pros

yes it does play blu rays but but plays in poor picture quality.

    Cons

when playing a blu ray when using windows 7 with full retail version you can't adjust the settings as far as typ of monitor you have or the color or anything.basicly it plays blu rays but plays them very poorly.i would not recommend this software to nobody it flat out is crap

    Summary

in other word the software is junk and makes blu ray movies look like junk stay away don't buy...

"Expensive splash screen - Not much else."

    July 08, 2013   |   By NOTHAPPYDAMMIT

    Version: Corel WinDVD Pro 11

    Pros

Splash screen actually shows.....(That's a pro?)

    Cons

Doesn't launch. Useless. No errors. Nothing. Just a splash screen and then.....you guessed it - nothing.

    Summary

If you like hideously expensive splash screens, then this program is for you. If you are the other 99.9% of the PC userbase that actually expect a program to launch after you buy it, don't waste your money.

"Works as advertised: plays DVD's and Blu-Ray discs"

    April 20, 2013   |   By mrterryc

    Version: Corel WinDVD Pro 11

    Pros

Very clean interface that doesn't overwhelm you with too many possibilities. It doesn't try to be the "all everything" media player that others like PowerDVD seem to do. It just works.

    Cons

    None for my needs.

    "Full retail version works perfectly"

    January 27, 2013   |   By Mergatroid Mania

    Version: Corel WinDVD Pro 11

    Pros

Does everything it says it will do.

    Cons

    Haven't found any yet.

    Summary

I see a lot of people here who either don't know what they're doing, don't understand how to read, or have really bad PCs that need a windows reinstall. I'm using the full retail version and it works perfectly. It's not an editor (learn to read buddy), it's a video player that will play blu-rays. If you want a decent blu-ray player for your home theater PC, this one works great (over HDMI or DVI). By the way, if you honestly think a blu-ray will play over VGA in HD, you have a lot of reading to do. Here's a big hint. Look up HDMI and DRM. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and having zero problems.

    "Useless waste of time."

    December 13, 2012   |   By OldNoob

    Version: Corel WinDVD Pro 11

    Pros

    free trial

    Cons

Does not support Component output for blu-ray. Only supports DVI or HDMI output for blu-rays

    Summary

My graphics card outputs HD through component ( red, blue, green)
this program is USELESS TO ME!

"Never worked and no back up service!"

    November 10, 2012   |   By Freefox10

    Version: WinDVD 8

    Pros

Don't know as it never worked!

    Cons

Corel's Win DVD 8 Never worked on my Vista computer. I paid Corel and lost my money! Corel were not interested in helping me either. I am still very angry about it. You cannot uninstall it either and it uses 84MBs even though it doesn't work!

    Summary

Bad! I am still very angry with this company!

"Trialware plays Blu-Ray, Retail doesn't. Beware!!!"

    August 06, 2012   |   By smehea

    Version: Corel WinDVD Pro 11

    Pros

    Clean user interface

    Cons

Trialware will play Blu-Ray on a standard Vga connection monitor without any problem. The retail version doesn't and comes back with an error stating it detected 'Analog Output'. Adding the SlySoft AnyDvd Hd plugin will trick it into playing blu-ray but this costs £55 and defeats the purpose. Corel support was absolutely terrible with the usual answers, 'update your patches \ drivers, have you checked the knowledgebase?', etc. Then no response after a week of badgering for an answer. In the end I brought forward my decision to purchase a new monitor with DVI output and it worked straight away. But this is still a con, trialware should reflect a timed version of the final product, not something which cons you into buying it's bigger sibling.

    Summary

Once working the product does the job although I'm sure there are better applications out there. They just cost a lot more.
You must use a monitor with DVI output for it to work and make sure your installed copy is updated with the latest service pack (v7).
Corel support is rubbish and not worth the time taken to log a fault.

    "Worthless application."

    April 27, 2012   |   By gfriesm

    Version: Corel WinDVD Pro 11

    Pros

None. The applocation does not work.

    Cons

Computer freezes when you try to watch a DVD with Corel WinDVD. You cannot even get out of the application using the task manager. The only option is to force shut down the computer and reboot. The application simply doesn't work.
