Simple, lightweight audio player... very excellent if you just want to play MP3 (mp2, mp1), WAV, OGG files, (and many other formats, including CD's, via plugins), or... stream from URL.
Includes equalizer and ID3 tag editing from the playlist editor.
Option to close after playing... so you could set it as default player... to double-click an audio file, playing it, and exiting.
Few recent updates (but... it's meant to be a simple player).
Forums are out of date/spammed.
CNET's dnld mgr version of Cool Player (2.15?) causes a virus alert, and the direct download link doesn't seem to work (old?).
Version 2.19 (from coolplayer.sourceforge.net, 2.20 from softpedia) is an excellent simple audio player for when you just want to play audio/music without a lot of extra needless 'features'.
Includes an equalizer, playlist/tag editor, save/load playlists, shuffle, repeat, track time elapsed or time remaining (click display), and you can add by file or directory. Some skins.
Almost wiped out my computer I DO NOT THINK YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD THIS!!! cool player is spy ware/trojen!!! DON'T DOWNLOAD!!!!
A Trojan horse "Downloader.Agent" comes with this download, detected by AVG-antivirus.
I thought: maybe the other guys that talk about viruses are wrong, but they aren't, this is crap, should not be on download.com
What? Can we have a "no stars" rating, please?
Upon finishing install, NAV reported and deleted a temporary file, then the system reports a missing file "release.exe" and the installer tries to fool you into restarting the system...if it isn't a virus, it surely behaves like one. Best avoid it.
Do not use this program!
I have scanned this download with multiple virus scanners and found an array of viruses and trojans.
simple in appearance
I put 1/3 of my songs on the playlist and it "Encounted a problem", twice, so I uninstalled it. I was interested in the sound quality, but alas, it seems to hold only 10 songs, from what I could tell. I wonder about the other reviews?
All hail the murderer of Winamp! This is the best mp3 player ive found! I cannot say enough about it. Aside from the playlist, if you double click an mp3 file in explorer, it INSTANTLY PLAYS. When is the last time you could say that? I hate waiting for proggies to load! Its small, and uses almost no memory at all.
....um,....needs more keyboard controls. Almost everything i have seen is mouse controled. This is fine unless you hate your mouse like i do, lol!
500 kb download, easy to install, no advertisements, quick loading of playlists/tracks, and definitely not a resource hog unlike some media players. Time to say goodbye to Windows Media Player for me, at least as far as music is concerned. Oh, and it supports Ogg Vorbis!

If you cannot put 1000 songs in the playlist without encountering a "problem" and the program shutting down, how can you say goodbye to any other player?
