Cookies are electronic tags placed on your computer by Web sites. They are increasingly used by advertisers to accumulate Internet user data and build user profiles. Cookie Crusher gives you control over the cookies accepted by and stored on your system. The program automatically and transparently accepts or rejects all or individual cookies from specified servers based on your preferences. Cookie Crusher classifies each incoming cookie and labels its purpose using advertisement, site tracking, and e-commerce designations. Cookies received from unspecified servers can be automatically accepted or rejected based on classification or expiration date; you can also be prompted for confirmation. Cookie Crusher keeps a detailed list of the cookies accepted and rejected from all servers for the current session. In addition, the program classifies all cookies already stored on the system and permits them to be viewed and deleted. In version 3.1, a diagnostic feature has been added to make browser setup easier, and the program's interface was redesigned for a Windows XP look and feel.
