Editors' reviewThis brisk and efficient utility does a good job of converting video files to DVD format, but a high price and a small feature set lessen its appeal. Ease of use is ConvertXtoDVD's strongest point.
At its simplest, you merely choose a file, set the target size, and start the conversion process. If you like, you can specify the screen size, the number of chapters, the minimum bit rate, and the priority of the conversion process. We found the conversion speed and quality satisfactory in our tests. The program's basic DVD burner lets you take your files from hard drive to disc without switching to another app.
ConvertXtoDVD's most obvious shortcoming is its inability to convert to any format besides DVD, and in that light the $39.95 price seems rather steep. ConvertXtoDVD is all right for what it is, but you can find more full-featured programs for much less.
