This brisk and efficient utility does a good job of converting video files to DVD format, but a high price and a small feature set lessen its appeal. Ease of use is ConvertXtoDVD's strongest point.

At its simplest, you merely choose a file, set the target size, and start the conversion process. If you like, you can specify the screen size, the number of chapters, the minimum bit rate, and the priority of the conversion process. We found the conversion speed and quality satisfactory in our tests. The program's basic DVD burner lets you take your files from hard drive to disc without switching to another app.

ConvertXtoDVD's most obvious shortcoming is its inability to convert to any format besides DVD, and in that light the $39.95 price seems rather steep. ConvertXtoDVD is all right for what it is, but you can find more full-featured programs for much less.

"Finally! At Last a real one for novice users."

Pros: The simplest and easiest converter/burner I have ever tried and used. I didn't even need to read the instructions. I recommend it as a must have product for all novice users and/or pros. Hat's off to VSO, stand up and take a bow.

Cons: The price. And that there is no user guide included when installed, that explains how to use all the features in the program without having to online to your website.

Summary: I am a novice, just beginning to learn my way around all the inner and outer workings of a computer, and all the things I can do and use it for. In the past I tried several other products and was left disappointed, frustrated and confused. But this ... read more >>

"Perfect DVD Burning Tool"

Pros: Perfectly made. Bravo, VSO-Software! The interface is very easy to use. But there are hidden powerful settings too. This software is very fast!

Cons: $49.95. Too expensive as for me...
