Publisher's description
From Gammadyne :Connection Keeper prevents your Internet connection from appearing idle or inactive. It does this using almost no bandwidth or system resources. If a connection is lost, Connection Keeper can automatically dial back in. It can even automatically simulate a button click to close pop-up windows (such as those asking if you wish to remain connected). You can configure precisely how your line is kept active, and Connection Keeper's window can be minimized to the system tray.

Version: Connection Keeper 6.3
Pros: Using this program is one of several steps that I take to prevent my ISP from disconnecting me. I can now leave my computer unattended for over a week while it downloads a large website. If my ISP asks, "Do you want to stay online?" and I do not answer "Yes," then my ISP toolbar disappears, making it appear that I have been disconnected, but in reality the internet connection remains.
By the way, another step that I take in order to stay online is to create certain temporary files by installing a program; downloading free "streaming audio" MP3s from a certain Korean website can help also.

Version: Connection Keeper 6.3
"Also useful for DSL/Cable connections that are always online"
Pros: I had no use for the 'keep connection alive' feature but the program also allows to trace the stability of always-online Cable or DSL connections:
1. the program can be started with MSWindows, running as a tray icon
2. it can be set up to connect periodically to a configurable list of Internet sites
3. failed connection attempts are written then to a log file
4. from the log file you can see when your 'always-online' connection was actually down (e.g. due to ISP maintenance cycle)
The program works great for my purposes, it's FREE and also stable (never crashed).
Cons: The 'keep connection alive' feature is useful for dial up but not for nowadays DSL/Cable connection which are mostly 'always online' anyway.
The GUI is in urgent need of a face lifting; fortunately, you only need to open it for configuration.

"Basic Design & Outstanding Performance."
Pros: I love the easy to follow basic functionality of this program, I use presently bellsouth dial up, there accelorated tech. leaves much to be desired but with this program, I never wind up on the short end of the stick so to say anymore because it simply put will not allow them to dump me anylonger off of the server. If you are looking for reliability, try this program - Connection Keeper 6.3 . Also, it has a good number of eye catching skins to choose from as well.
