Like a Swiss Army Knife for digital photos, CompuPic Pro can handle a wide variety of common graphic tasks. The utility excels in image organization by allowing the creation of collections and image-specific keywords. The software's business-like layout might be a bit confusing for newcomers, however, and the included help system could be more thorough. The software's slide-show and image-effect tools also are fairly limited--there are lower-priced solutions that offer significantly better special effects. However, for the more technical tasks, CompuPic Pro delivers. Especially impressive is the powerful batch-processing tool, which is remarkably simple to use. If you're looking for a photo-management tool that's more functional than fun, this is definitely worth a look.

"Quick and easy to use, does NOT do it all"

Pros
EASILY resize, auto crop to various formats (4x6, 5x7 etc), sharpen, shift color and add captions and talk bubbles. Lots of features but could have a few more for $80.
Ability to generate photo index cards is fantastic!
Computer slide show capability with various speeds, transitions etc. is a definite plus.
Free 15 day trial will convince most users that this is a quality program. Standard version of CompuPic is a best buy at $40. Avoid lower cost express version.
Cons
Red eye reduction could be better. Also wish it had cloning and other features of more advanced photo editing software programs but it is still a very user friendly program.

It makes thumbnails so fast and keeps database size so small that it is amazing. The only drawback being that the viewer is not as fast as ACDSee.

Summary
I bought Compupic 6.23 Pro and it is extremely unstable. In fact, it finally got to the point where it barely works. The error is a program check in Compupic's "if.dnt" code. I have tried to work with their support but got nowhere - the usual disable AV software, load latest video drivers, etc... This problem occurred on a three month Dell XPS system.

I used ACD, Picasa, iBrowser, Xplorer, and others and found CompuPic had the best and most intuitive interface. Yes, it may not have all the features of some of the others, but if you are really interested in a tool to manage and organize photos, this is it.

I have been using Compupic for about 5 years. I keep trying out all the other photo programs, and I do use them occasionally, but 98% of my photo manipulation is done with Compupic.

Summary
In an ideal world people would buy a digital camera, take pictures, sync the camera with their computers and a software would more or less automatically build a website that people can upload onto their webspace to share the pictures with friends, family and whomever. Well, thanks to CompuPic Pro we're a siginificant step further towards a perfect world!
