Comodo Firewall Pro gets a major revision from its publisher, upgrading to Version 3 with some significant changes. Most importantly, user complaints about resource hogging when Version 2 came out have been all but eradicated with the new model.
The program still provides a smorgasbord of information and options for advanced users, but it's simple enough for beginners, and runs smoothly and silently in the background. The most obvious new features include support for Windows Vista at the expense of Windows 2000 support, although the older v2.4 with Windows 2000 support is still available.
The other big change is the new interface. This new UI isn't exactly an improvement on the old one. However, the blue color scheme has been toned down in favor of basic white, and there's more empty space between the various options. Old terminology has been replaced with more intuitive terms. The new main tabs are Summary, Firewall, Defense , and Miscellaneous. In each, though, there are links to relevant security issues so users can drill down to learn more about how the firewall is performing.
There's a new feature called the Host Intrusion Prevention System that supposedly protects against unknown threats. Obviously, it's hard to tell if it works unless an unknown threat gets in, but it didn't seem to affect system performance negatively. Mostly, Comodo rears its head most often soon after installation when Security Alerts ask about new Internet connections as the program "learns" your computer's behavior.
Don't be fooled by the name, either. Comodo is labeled Pro but it offers up its dragon-sized treasure of features for free.

Pros: But continuously blink in tray and icon, so I disturbed and can not do any work of my Office.
Cons: Best Protection forever.

Pros: This Firewall is really amazing! A lots of features for free firewall. Actually this firewall is one of my 7 Security suite installed on my PC. This version is quite fast and doesn't hog my memory. It can scan malicious files on my computer at a very reasonable time. It updates most of the time for its core definition and interface is very user friendly. I Tried to hack my own computer but this firewall does its job! Easy to set features what apps or i can say you can set your own profile on how this firewall works. Set it and forget it. And finally for Techy users, we have our advanced setting that is straight to the point.
Cons: Nothing..Thank you for providing this for free. We will continue to advertise this product to our FRIENDS!

"Much Better Than The Previous Version"
Pros: There aren't that many annoying pop-ups and when I tell it to remember my answer it does. That was my main issue with the last version, I'm glad doesn't do that any longer. It offers way more security features than other free firewalls and you can add which programs you think are safe and you can quarantine files that you are unsure of, there are a lot of options and that makes this a very good firewall to have.

"Great if you want to be hounded to death by a firewall"
Pros: This piece hog pooh really sucks incessantly bugs you for every single action you take on pc..It doesn't learn either repeatedly ask permission to do things you have already given it around a hundred times already!.Any i noticed you wiped all the reviews for this new version.Most people gave a negative review is that why you deleted those comments cnet?.Any if you really want a decent firewall capable of remebering what you tell it get zone alarm firewall which is also free.You won't regret it.
