Comodo Firewall Pro provides a smorgasbord of information and options for advanced users, simple enough for beginners, and yet runs smoothly and silently in the background.
It's labeled Pro but this Comodo offers up a dragon's treasure of features for free. Running mostly hidden, Comodo rears its head most often during Security Alerts that ask about new Internet connections. Alerts contain basic outgoing connection information. The user must determine if it's safe. The connections monitor displays the Application, the Source IP and Port, the Destination IP and Port, and the number of bytes received and sent.
Overall, the features offered are not only comprehensive, but they're useful. So not only is there a Network Monitor, but it displays its rules clear enough for even the greenest security wonk to Google up the relevant terms. Whether you're in the Activity tab, the Security tab or viewing the Summary, which displays Security Monitoring, your current Security Level and useful system information such as your IP address and your MAC address, the program has been geared at all levels to help you understand where your 1's and 0's are going, and which programs are sending them.
Currently incompatible with Vista, Comodo also requires a reboot before using. Other than that, keep in mind that Comodo is freeware and it's hard to reason against using it.

Pros: Comodo is easy to use firewall.It passed against most firewall threats and it can protect itself against direct attacks.Good protection against hacker and intrusions.It Controls programs and lets you choose which can access the Internet.It's free and the best product created by Comodo.

Pros: 1. Low memory usage: It's hard to find a firewall that offers good protection and low memory usage. It seems you either get high RAM usage and little protection, or low memory usage with no protection or a hard to use program; at least in my experience. Comodo doesn't use much RAM and offers rock solid protection for free.
2. The interface is pretty nice looking. I'm not focused on the interface but this program has a neat one. Reminds me a bit of the XP media center theme.
3. Easy to install and configure for both beginners and pros. It has simple configuration options for people who don't know how to configure a firewall or don't want to mess with it, and it has advanced options for professionals.
Overall this is a great program and if you want rock solid protection then give it a whirl.
Cons: The only con is that the pop ups are a little annoying after install but as time goes on the pop ups are less and less.

Pros: I think CPF is one - if not the BEST - of the most easy to use firewall software, wheter a small company or just a little local network, to set up your own network defense! Insurance? I've tested the sofwtare in a larger company (over 200 computers), at home (2 PCs + a router) and at a small company (4 computers + router). I found absolutely no problems next to XP systems.
I also liked the localized languages. So even your old parents can understand what the firewall asks.
Even if you don't have an antivirus, you can protect yourself from plenty of worms and trojans by blocking their way easily.
After running the basic wizards (network and known files), i never found problems at companies.
Setting up rules is quite easy. Even if you got problems: just have a look at the log and it'll tell you what the problem is!
The new own installer won't need any registering, just a simple activation.
The computer isn't too slow with the latest CPF, most users got better performance than with two other shareware firwall titles.
They got a friendly community at the forum where you can find your answer. You can also post your problems - free - at the support's ticket system.
Most people find it quite easy to use, so do i.
Cons: I need password protection for my settings.
I would like a correct handling of user rights.
I guess CPF works much better with XP systems.
The firewall will switch off your network several times next to torrent applications: this is caused by the defense but it's a thing i don't like.
CPF should use less memory, but i guess 32MB not much next to todays computer, most people got at least 512MB RAM.
Sometimes it got a graphical bug if you got more network adapters.
The rule priorities aren't very well documented.

Pros: i always use to downplay this program but the new version is great... doesnt take up much memory..more options then zonealarm. tie with zonealarm for best free firewall..i give comodo the notch cause it takes up less memory..
