Publisher's description of Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
From Big Time Software:Experience combat in a full 3D battlefield as tracers arc overhead and exploding shells shake the earth. Feel the tremendous power of the feared Russian Katyusha rocket barrage. Order a tank hunter team to assault a heavy KV-1 with Panzerfausts and magnetic mines in the ruins of a shattered city. The fluid game interface combines with 3D lines of sight, misidentification of targets, enemy detection by sound, advanced armor penetration systems, unit morale and leadership effects, spreading fires and billowing smoke, wind and weather, and much more.

Version: Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin 1.0
"The best of the best of the best"
Pros: I'm a civilian so don't laugh at me, but I think I suffered from a little combat fatigue the first few scenarios I played against my buddy 200 miles away over the internet. The 120mm artillary is brutal, (the 150mm is devastating) The T-34/85's (late T34 models) are great, the Panzers (III's, IV's, and Tigers) are just plain good German engineering. The Stuka's and Henchels are a real threat. The Sturmvicks are as tough as they were then. I think this game is as close to what is was like as I ever want to be. I'm an old Squad Leader series player (Avilon Hill) from the 80's. If you don't have any strategy skills you're as good as dead. Once you learn how to beat the computer try playing a human over the internet and you will be humbled again. This "game' is based on the real deal. CMBB is worth finding a newer computer to run it on if you're having computer problems. Mine is going on three years old and CMBB runs just fine on it. I use head phones and all I have to say is WOW!
Cons: Some of the scenarios are impossible to win as they are, so my buddy and I used the scenario editior and 'tweaked' them. They're better now.

Version: Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin 1.0
Pros: This game is a mindblower for anyone who has an interest in wargames. The realism is breathtaking. Battlefront( actually it's contracted developers ) is the leader in this genre bar, none. The demo is excellent, but just the tip of the iceberg. I'm running on a late model PC, and the sim is rock solid. As a kid I got off on playing board games ( Panzer Blitz, etc. ), so this is a wet dream for me. For anyone with a little patience, and the desire to go beyond first person shooters, this game will not disappoint. Checkout the other games in Battlefronts stable ( esp. Africa Corps ), if you like this one. Good hunting!
Cons: Not much to say here, except the audio tracks could be beefed up a little. Somewhat repetative, and the explosions are a bit weak. I'm nitpicking here, it's that good.

"ATTN: Mac OSX does not run this game"
Summary: This game sucks, the software developers, develop for mac, but you cant run the program because they didnt update for Mac OSX. You cant even run in classic mode. You have to partition your hard drive which is to much trouble for a crappy demo.

Version: Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin 1.0
"Ultra accurate turn-based wargame"
Summary: Tactical wargames that are more than the standard click-fest are rare. This is a stanout exception.
