Publisher's description
From Jay Prall :Color Cop converts RGB decimal values to RGB hexadecimal triplets. It has a built-in color picker, color preview, auto copy to clipboard, and an eyedropper to choose colors from anywhere on the screen. Color Cop remembers the last screen position, the last color selected, the last mode (Delphi or HTML hex mode), auto on top, and auto-copy to clipboard options. It features an eyedropper, a magnifier, variable magnification levels, 3-by-3 and 5-by-5 average sampling, color history, and a 42-color complementary palette. Color Cop will convert RGB decimal values to hexadecimal color codes. It has color code support for HTML hex, Delphi hex, PowerBuilder, Visual Basic hex, and Visual C++ hex.
Version 5.4.3 fixes some bugs.

Version: Color Cop 5.4.3
Pros: It does exactly what it's supposed to with no muss and no fuss. It's highly customizable, which is such a bonus! I can depend on it and I don't have to wade through a lot of junk to get to what I want. I use Color Cop constantly.
Cons: The menu is right click, but that's not really a problem.
(Unless, of course, you are an idiot who can't figure out that sometimes you have to use that *other* button to make things work just like you want them to.)

Version: Color Cop 5.4.3
"Perfect Little App- clean, quick, simple, unclutterd"
Pros: Im always customizing my desktop- which means im also constantly trying to match up colors- between my wallpaper, windows, fonts, etc- so i was very much in need of a quick small utility that could do the matching for me- nothing too complex- just a simple "color picker".
So i went and downloaded 11 programs- tried them out 1 by 1, eliminating most of them, till i got down to 2- Color Cop was one (the other i kept for more advanced color functions).
Color Cop, more aptly than the rest, fit the requirements i described above- it's small & simple- i have it in my Quick Launch bar, & can, um, quickly, bring it up when i need it. With the color grabber tool, you can pick up any color on your screen- once you click on the spot where your desired color is, there's a small box (in the screen shot- the bottom right box) that shows the portion of the screen that you just grabbed from, magnified, for more a more accurate pick of your color. It also remembers the last 7 colors selected (or potentially 8, if you include the most recent, current color selected), which is very useful.
And just to round out this sweet little app, there's also a button labeled "Custom", which will open up a Custom Color Picker for you to select your own colors if needed. And, while i love this for the simplicity, there are even more extra features for more advanced color needs- but the great thing about them is they are unobtrusive and do not bog down the app- they are found in the menu options- you can have Color Cop detect colors that are Websafe, convert selected colors to grayscale, and more. Perfect little App.
Cons: Im hesitant to say this, bc the beauty of Color Cop is it's simplicity- i didn't want anything too over the top- again, i wanted something simple, easy & quick- but for some they may find the UI ugly & plain- for me, however- the plainer the better- anything more fancy might take away from the clean, uncomplicated quality of it.

Version: Color Cop 5.4.3
"Strong, tiny, highly-customizable tool"
Pros: I'm a newbie web designer, and this is perfect for snagging colors from websites. The window is tiny and can minimize to your tray. The options seem endless, and very easy to use. Returns color values in multiple formats. Includes zoom window and clipboard for recent colors that both collapse to make window even smaller.
Cons: I'm sure other tools offer a few more bells-and-whistles, but this is completely unobtrusive and it still seems to do everything i might ever need it for.
