The Cole2k Media Advanced Codec Pack is an easy way to install all main stream codecs to play movie and music files downloaded from the web or ripped from original sources. Installation is made easy with an easy install option and the most functional setting are automatically applied. Under Windows 7 and Vista popular file types are set to play in Windows Media Player, although the codecs will work in every player. Codecs for encoding and editing are included in the pack with settings automatically applied to suit most encoding, ripping and editing applications.The codec pack includes both 32bit and 64bit codecs enabling it to work with 32bit and 64bit version of Microsoft Windows and players.
Files supported include .mkv .mka (Matroska) .avi .bdmv .evo .mp4 .m4v .m4a .flv .webm .ogm .ogg .ts .ps .ac3 (Dolby Digital) .dts (Digital Theater Surround) .flac .ape (Monkey Audio) .aac .ofr (OptimFrog) .mpc (Musepack) .wv (WavPack) and many more
Compression types supported include 10bit x264 (Hi10p), x264, h264, AVC, DivX, XviD, MJPEG (Morgan JPEG) MPEG4 and many more.
As an optional extra Windows 7 and Vista users can try AnyDVD HD, which allows playback of protected BluRay's, DVD's, and CD's. If selected, the codec pack will also set BluRay and AVCHD discs to automatically play in Windows Media Player.
What's new in this version: Version 7.9.8 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Downloaded this so I could watch dvds on my computer again, something I used to be able to do but now for what ever reason cannot. It does not work for this.

This Code pack works and works well, it has the 64 bit DLL's and they work with out issue.
After you load this all your software will work as it should. Not like quite a few of the other Codec packs out that say they do.Cons
The only con that I can think of is this may make some of the newer users worry about how this works.
But if they use the prompts they will not have any problems .Summary
If you want a Codec pack that works then use this, it will work with all your other software and you will not even have to take a look or keep resetting settings to make things just work as they should.
Give it a try and you will see that this is the one that most should be using.
And it works with the 64 bit Op systems and works fully! -
