Suitable for both Web-design newbies and HTML hotshots, CoffeeCup 2008 introduces a new CSS and HTML autocompletion tool to join its well-known WYSIWYG and standard HTML editors.
It continues to offer powerful features melded to a straightforward and compact interface that is organized by tabs--perfect for keeping track of multiple projects. Its advanced features include HTML and CSS scripting, Flash animations, and drag-and-drop Java scripts. Beginners, meanwhile, get an excellent tutorial and a WYSIWYG editor that supports simple drag-and-drop. Heavily trafficked support forums are also available. An extensive array of samples and templates includes site designs and JavaScript-based widgets such as calendars and calculators.
You also get a complete list of tags. Inserting an image, a table, a list, or a DHTML menu is a snap. Tabbed editing lets you simultaneously change multiple pages, and a built-in FTP client facilitates one-click uploading. The status bar displays valid usage suggestions, and you even get a built-in thesaurus. Full-featured and easy to use, users who are worried about the $50 price tag should be comforted by the fact that it includes lifetime free upgrades.

CoffeeCup HTML Editor is a full-featured HTML editor. It includes Expresso FTP for uploading and downloading (in the registered version only), an image gallery (with quick-linking images), highlighted tags, style sheet help, automatic image sizing, a line reader, and tips. This program also comes with 30 background images, more than 175 animated GIFs, upwards of 140 Web icon graphics, 50 JavaScripts, a frame designer, an HTML stripper, and VBScripts with ActiveX functionality (5 unregistered, 10 registered). You can work on and test multiple pages at once. Other features include an internal browser for testing and surfing, an image-previewing utility, a sound gallery, online help, project management features, support for HTML server extensions, a form designer, WebTV tag support, and special-character insertion.
This new version features an Image Companion, which allows you to view and convert files of any type. The Image Companion also instantly adds the correct image tags to your Web page and rotates, grayscales, and changes the color depth of your images. Other features new to version 5.1 include a new and improved Help File with a step-by-step Web design guide and references for the latest HTML 4.0 tags. In this version, the sound gallery has been expanded, the file management features have been improved, and many other features have been added to make the process of creating and maintaining Web sites much more efficient and productive.
