Coeli Stella 2000 is an astronomy suite that includes a full-featured planetarium, an observing log and list builder, a live ephemeris, a location browser, and sophisticated searches that embrace planets, comets, DSOs, and more than 15,500 stars. Planetarium effects include scintillation, extinction, refraction, and precession in point source; photo plate and spotlight display styles; and the complete Messier catalog of image icons. An integrated HTML guide to the solar system and an astronomical dictionary of 1,000 terms now form part of Stella's standard feature set. Included is Aspects of Astronomy, a book-length tutorial covering topics such as What are the Stars?, Choosing a Telescope, Cosmology, Dark Matter, Eclipses, The History of Astronomy, and dozens of others. In addition, there is a new status bar for the sky window, a "Tip of the Day" box with more than 60 key hints and tips for getting the best from the program, coordinate legends for Horizon and Equatorial grids, full-screen start-up, and greater font control with setup options.

Some key features to Coeli Stella is Coeli Time Line (also known as Stella BC), an interactive adjustment and observation of the sky through past and future millennia. With Time Line's slider bar, you can view the precession of the local sky live, from before the building of the Pyramids to mankind's distant future.

Coeli Stella 2000 basic edition comes complete with an unabridged version of Astrogloss A-Z, and 110 extra star names to enhance the sky display. This updated version brings the convenience of toggling lines, names, and grids on/off all at once; makes the Setup window conveniently accessible from the sky's own context menu; adds copy, paste, and print functions to the Special Reference section; and enhances the reference titles, Aspects of Astronomy and Astrogloss A-Z, with more hyperlinks and extensive correction of errata.
