Although it couldn't be easier to use, this outdated history cleaning utility lacks some of the niceties found in current applications. Clear History's plain interface consists of 17 stacked check boxes to clear the Recycle Bin, cookies, temporary files, and other areas. There are a few start-up option check boxes below the main group. It doesn't inspire confidence that some options are misspelled. The tall narrow window doesn't automatically adjust to desktop, nor can it be resized. Testers complained it is annoying to move the interface around to see the top or bottom items.
No Help file is available, but then one really isn't needed. Operation is easy enough with only a pair of buttons to Hide to task bar and Clear Now. There's no way to view files before deletion, so you can't pick and choose which items Clear History will remove. While that may not matter for areas like the Recycle bin, most professional programs let you view important items you may want to keep.
It's painfully obvious this program hasn't been updated by the publisher in several years. Clear History doesn't handle any browsers other than IE, and includes an option to clear Telenet history. While this application does remove traces as promised, it's easily outclassed by other programs in the genre.
