This fast freeware file cleaner clears your system of certain junk files, but it doesn't ask permission before deletion. CleanUp's multitabbed dialog-size interface needs little explanation. It takes just a minute of setting options and this program is set for system cleaning.
CleanUp operates best when set for daily cleaning. It removes junk files quickly, and it can be easily set to operate silently. The program empties the Recycle Bin, deletes newsgroup subscriptions and cache, eats cookies, forgets favorite places, and will even reset some game scores. With one click it will wipe, rather than simply delete, files. Customizing cleaning of select folders and Registry entries is also a quick and painless process.
As a matter of fact, setting options is so easy one forgets this program will delete files without pause. Similar apps list files set for deletion to give users the opportunity to select which will be deleted. The program only offers a demo mode to show what files would be deleted during the normal run, but there's no option to save select files when its in actual use. This freeware is best suited for experienced users, who will quickly find the proper customization options for their systems to make CleanUp a fine daily tool to remove select temp files.

Disregard another reviewer's bad review saying it deleted everything on his computer. If you follow the directions and have it on the 'STANDARD CLEANUP' setting everything will run fine. DO NOT run on 'THOROUGH CLEANUP'. The program allows you to do a test-run ahead of time to see how much you can delete (and which files) whithout actually deleting them (reccomended). I had endless gigabytes of invisible files in my Users/AppData Windows folder that couldn't be deleted no matter what I tried. This program clearned them in 30 min! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!! Bottom line, it cleans up, very well, I have a computer repair company and use it on all my customers computers from windows 98 to windows 7 with no problems,my employees do the same, have installed on 1000s and 1000s and my customers love the program. You do have an undue option for safeguard, only problem I have ever seen is when a program installed itself in the temp folder, but thats also where 99.9 % of bad guys keep there stuff also. Cleanup is not a malware like the one reviewer claims, cnet would not allow that. I use it and have my 1000s of customers use it as a maximum, monthly maintainance item, I do my weekly, that and a defrag, really speeds up my computers

I was having trouble with choppy video and generally really slow internet loading times. Ran CleanUp and it solved the problem. Got rid of nearly 5 GB of junk!

For those that didn't use it properly, perhaps it deleted several files that stored cookies (remembered passwords, logins, etc.) but I very much doubt it fried your OS. Either you did something else terribly wrong or you just don't know how to use the software. Upon installation it gives you pretty clear instructions on what you'd like deleted. Nothing wrong with it at all.
