Version: ClamWin Antivirus 0.83
Pros: finally an open source antivirus project. User interface is easy to master & I esp like the feature to pinpoint down to a specific in ur com to scan for viruses.
Cons: the virus database is not v extensive. I downloaded 14 different virus/trojans but it only detected 5. I wished theres a link on the virus detected to its website describing its specific potency. But still, I'm hopeful wif this AV on continously improvement.

Pros: Overall, i like the software but can't say i 'love'.
It is very simple to use, to more options u need to set, all are automaticlly. Autoupdate, e-mail scanner, real-time. But it is a small program. Startup fast unlike
the popular antivirus, Norton, etc.
Has all of a basic antivirus needs.
Open source project, hope it as popular as firefox.
Cons: Scans computer slow. Is a new born software,
so it doesn't as good as AVG, Avast!. Need a lot of improvements. It has a unfriendly interface. Just has 2 tasks: Scan and Update, too less its features. But may be this is good for others who unlike to do more setting. I wish 1.0 will improve a lot!

"The best (only??) open source antivirus"
Pros: Although it has a small virus database, Clam is always the first to update when new viruses appear, Ahead of Trend, Mcafee, even Kaspersky.
Cons: It's not Kaspersky.

"It has good points and BAD points"
Pros: 1st this is V .83, and V .88 is available @ clamwin.com as of eailer this month. Probably the best aspect of this app is being open source and an ongoing project is the fact that the virus database could one of the most current and updated around. Simple IF, 1 click for the most part(always a plus). For what it is it's OK but not one for anyone serious about on the fly virus protection. For real protection for "Free" Avast or AVG( my personal favorite) are what you need.
Cons: Extremely slow virus scan( at least 3X slower than most), although it is a complete one. Updating is somewhat cumbersome (real slow), but frequent virus updates always there. The bigest thing is there is a new version available about every 2 months or so, so you always need the new version to be current.

Pros: This is the ONLY real free AV in the net. An interesting example of open source. Light and with continuous updates of the virus database
Cons: No real time protection, slow scan, poor interface, but the project is young
