Using a challenge/response system, this program effectively blocks spam from your e-mail account and offers extras, which makes it a great option among the many spam blockers available. ChoiceMail blocks spam by sending a reply e-mail to any new senders, asking them to verify their identities. Because spammers won't go through this process, ChoiceMail won't forward any spam to you. The program builds whitelists and blacklists out of identity confirmations and lets you customize those lists. Some of your correspondents may not like the extra step of confirming their identities, but they will only have to do it once. In addition to these strict guidelines, you can create keywords that ChoiceMail will look for before sending e-mail on to you. ChoiceMail also comes with an extensive set of rules for blocking e-mail, such as common keywords and other obvious spam traits (such as using certain types of HTML). We particularly like being able to pick and choose the rules we want to apply because it lets us set a precise level of protection. ChoiceMail cannot be used by Outlook users who are on Microsoft Exchange Server unless it supports POP3 accounts. In spite of that, ChoiceMail does a great job of blocking unwanted spam, although you will have to get your correspondents to take an extra step before they can e-mail you.Publisher's description

Version: ChoiceMail Free 2.66
"Great product. Unbelievable tech support."
Pros: I've used ChoiceMail for many years and love it as a clever, elegant, well done way to defeat spam. The other day I switched to a new computer and was having trouble with the reinstallation of many of my apps, to the point that I was beginning to lose my cool. What saved me was when I left a description of my CM installation problem at their support site, and four minutes later my phone rang. It was the DigiPortal CTO saying, "I think I can fix this for you." Which he then did, by having me download Tight VNC, so he could take over my computer for a few minutes. Compare that to waiting on hold for an hour to speak to someone in Pakistan!

"Excellent spam protection that is easy to use."
Pros: Although the user can establish rules, the use of an "approved senders" lists and a "rejected senders" list pretty much does it all. These list are generated over time with very little effort from the user. Anyone to whom the user sends email is automatically placed on the "approved senders" list. Entire domains can be approved too. Any sender who is not approved automatically receives a response email that request a reason to contact the user. Spammers never reply thus their emails are held in ChoiceMail for four days then automatically deleted - never making it to the users email client inbox. The sender's response, if they respond at all, is made available for the user to approve or reject. Recent versions have added several very handy extras including virtual email. Product even offers an "away" message if the user is not checking mail for an extended period of time. User interface with the product is simple and straight forward. Product support is exceptional. The owners/developers remain highly engaged with the product and their customers. I have been using the product for two or three years now. Its an amazingly effective system.

"ChoiceMail does EXACTLY what's advertised - NO SPAM gets through."
Pros: Over the years that I have been using a variety of software, I have often noticed either a poor user interface or lack or features. In some cases, as software has been upgraded, features have been added which tend to make the newer versions slower and less responsive.
ChoiceMail has continued to perform exactly as advertised by keeping my inbox clear of unwanted junk mail. Each upgrade that's been released has not detracted from the operation or made the product perform slower.
It's filled with features that permit a user to customize rules that control Email very well.
I haven't had any junk mail in my inbox since I started using ChoiceMail well over a year ago.
Cons: There's nothing that I don't like. This product is simply wonderful.

"The "Final" Solution to Spam"
Pros: I've been pestered with Spam for many years and have tried other Anti-Spam applications until I found this one.
I?ve gained hours of my life back again!!! It works well with many POP email accounts and Web mails.
I had it running with Outlook Express and now with Outlook Just use the Easy Setup Wizard and it does the entire Job for you!!
It?s a powerful application and yet my 75-year-old mom had it up and running in 15 minutes. She smiles when I ask her if she gets Spam anymore.
Bottom Line: Try it fully functional for 30 days and then make your choice I purchased the license in my first week.

Version: ChoiceMail Free 2.66
Pros: I was to the point of getting a new email address after using the same one for 8 yrs. Then Choicemail rescued me. I re-claimed my Inbox.
Cons: If you order something on-line, you have to look through the "in waiting" messages to get your confirmation. But you do NOT have to look through the 'trash' in your junk box. Excellent filters!
