Publisher's description

From Atlantic Bridge Publishing :

In the year 30 AD, an old man enters a cave and places an ancient artifact atop a circular monolith. Days later, Romans kill the old man, but soldiers never recover the body or the treasured artifacts in his possession. In present day Israel, a young shepherd discovers the remains of an ancient human. Archeologists come on the scene and point out several intriguing riddles. Translators decode the first half of the Magus' journal, but the second half remains a mystery. Thus, CIA agents travel to Tempe, Arizona to solicit the aide of an unorthodox linguistics professor. Those working on the project label the ancient man a Magus, the youngest of three Magi who followed the Star of Bethlehem. According to his journal, the Magus made a returned visit to Judea as an older man, where a controversial Rabbi, who was put to death, presented him with an artifact to preserve for future generations.A research team travels to an underground facility in the Israeli hill country. Once there, two team members review the translated diary portion, which ends with the Magus approaching a strange formation of shimmering light after the Rabbi's death. While the church is unnerved by the discovery, curious strangers lurk in the shadows. In a twist that connects the past and present, the second diary portion is translated at last, presenting a new vista on creation when the world seems to need it most. Afterward, the research team must unravel more mysteries that ultimately lead to a sacred mountain by the Dead Sea. There, they retrieve a glowing, formless object of light left by the Magus atop an ancient shrine. Afterward, the strangers and researchers converge in an ironclad clash of wits. Filled with bone chilling mystery and action packed adventure, Child of the Star connects the fragile line between science and religion, as well as past and present. It delivers the unfailing message that even in our present day world of non-individuality, there remains a need for a few to blindly chase a star.
