Runs on all Palm devices including all Tungsten, Zire, Treo, Lifedrive, Handspring and Sony Clie devices. High resolution support for Palm OS 5, Sony Clie's and Handera 330. Three board sizes: small, big or giant. The small board display shows chess clocks, move record and 'thinking' information. Hint. ChessGenius can suggest a move for you. Tutor Option: ChessGenius will warn if a blunder or weak move is played and give the option of takeback. Set up position. Forty playing levels. 10 'easy', 10 'blitz', 10 time per move and 10 'mate solver'. Understands the rules of chess including: draw by repetition, 50 move rule, en passant, castling, under-promotion etc. Take-back moves also step-forward and replay game. ChessGenius can play against itself or allow two player games. Analyze game: Like 2 player mode but ChessGenius calculates continuously and shows its thinking on the small board. Save and Load games. Games are saved as memos. PGN compatible . Permanent brain option allows ChessGenius to think when it is your turn to move. Summary: I purchased ChessGenius in 2001 when I owned a Palm III. Several palms later I have a T5 and ChessGenius has evolved to take advantage of all the new features. I really appreciate the 480x320 screen view. Best of all the updates have been free.
