- The functions of the stand alone version of RemoteCapture are now included within ImageBrowser 3.5.2 as RemoteCapture Task. The included RemoteCapture Task supports: the PowerShot A80, G5, S50, A70, A60, A300, S400 and SD100. (The PowerShot SD10 does not have remote capture functionality.)

"Can not install on Panther"

I got an error message when I tried to install this on 10.3.2. So I called Canon. They say it is Apple's fault!!?? and I should call them. They offerred no help, and said they could not replicate the error. Refused to send me the software on CD either. Offered to sell me a newer update though :( Not!!! Great service Canon! Useless update.  -

The installer is abysmal. It didn't work the first time. I deleted the old version, tried again, but the installer wouldn't install because the old version was gone. I had to install the original version, then try again. It finally worked. This version should be called an UPDATE if it requires the old version. All this for software that hardly is the paragon of software design. But it works at least! -

I confirm Eric Westby's experience. And I'll stick my neck out by saying that my Mac -- the target of a clean Panther install not so long ago -- is not misconfigured.
Moreover, you have to install ImageBrowser folder in the same folder as the existing RemoteCapture folder before the menu item that purports to launch RemoteCapture gets enabled at all. Or something like that: the installer is confusing, and would not let me replace the exixting Applications:Canon Utilities:ImageBrowser folder, with the result that I ended up with a Applications:Canon Utilities:ImageBrowser:ImageBrowser folder. To correct the problem I dragged the application to the trash and tried installing again, but the installer claimed the current version was already installed. So I emptied the trash, and then the installer would not run because it could not see any version of the application, having deleted the old version first time around. Grrr.
It's good that Canon provides Mac support for its products, but, despite that, I have to give this application low marks: it looks and feels as if it escaped from Windows 98, does not perform as billed, and has a deeply annoying installer. -

installing on 10.3.2 and the original CD wasn't required. I don;t why it worked fine for me and not others. For the app itself, I've tried other ones that do raw file conversions and the only one that does any justice to Canon files happens to be this one. -
