Let's face it: virtual face-to-face conversations with people from Antarctica to Zanzibar make video chat the most intimate form of telecommunications yet. Free video chat apps like Camshare's Camfrog Video Chat let you meet and chat with far-flung friends; there's just no way text messages can substitute for two people actually talking to each other, no matter how many emoticons you use.
While Camfrog is optimized for video chat, it's a full-featured chat client that also handles audio and text messaging, file swapping, and other functions. Camfrog isn't the largest chat network, which isn't necessarily a disadvantage! It offers what the others do, generally speaking, including the ability to create your own password-protected chat rooms. Of course, you'll need a Webcam to use Camfrog's video chat feature. We tried Camfrog in both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7.
Installing, registering for, and signing on to Camfrog took just a minute or so. We could sign on to the Camfrog network automatically, save our password, and sign on as invisible, which hides your status from other users. Camfrog's compact interface has a Firefox-style start button (only green instead of orange) that opens a long menu of features and options. Camfrog displayed our screen name with a drop-down menu that let us quickly manage our connection and session. The main view has three tabs: Contacts, Rooms, and Phone/SMS. Camfrog's main features include the main Camfrog room, Video Chat Rooms, Search for Camfrog Users, and Parental Controls. Beneath the main view is a row of icons accessing the Notification List, Video Chat Rooms, Search for Camfrog Users, Send an Instant Message, and Add to Contact List. Users who need more features can click a link to download Camfrog Pro.
Camfrog offers a diverse range of chat rooms covering lots of topics. Online chat can be freewheeling and inappropriate for youngsters, and the problem is critically compounded by video. Camfrog's approach gives parents and other concerned users control over who uses the service, and when, and how. Camfrog Video Chat brings the world to your desktop, and with the greatest of ease.

There is nothing good about this software

This software is nothing more than extortion as all the popular rooms are in the 18+ section so you have to buy a pro code (a subscription) at 50 euros a year to be able to view a web cam in the 18+ section and they say its to prove you are over 18.
Summary
This software promises so much and produces so little if you go to general chat or anything not in the 18+ section your lucky if you come across 100 people combined from all the rooms. They want you to buy a pro code to see anyone on cam in the 18+ section of the chat-rooms this does not stop people with a pro code watching your cam. On there blog it says you have to buy a pro code to prove you are over 18. So they are charging you 50 euros a year to prove you are 18+. This is not something you want to download as it does not have very good potential. As all you will get is a gradually declining chat client with empty rooms. A few of the people I talked to on Camfrog said they were not going to renew there subscription as the number of members that didn't have a subscription made up most of the visitors and since they are no longer able to go to the 18+ section and view cams they don't log on anymore so they have killed of the chat client.

Service is seriously abused by users from the middle-east and Turkey.
Summary
Camshare does not control abuses of its service, mainly in the adult-only portions of it. Unsuspecting users have their cams recorded, and played back by others, for the purpose of attracting users to chat rooms and scamming and stealing money from users. Camshare is fully-aware of the extent of the abuses of its service, but in spite of that, it does little to address them, most likely because it profits from many of those same abuses.
The extent of the problem is so serious that camfrog video chat rooms have become like a cyber war-zone, with hundreds of cyber-attacks on servers that host video chat rooms occuring daily.
Users from middle eastern countries; and most-notably, Turkey use DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks to control video chat rooms in the adult-only, English-speaking portions of the service.
Many of those same users routinely broadcast sexually-explicit, pre-recorded video that includes child pornography and beastiality on their web cams in video chat rooms, after having gained control of them by way of cyber-attacks.
If you are a parent, keep your child as far away from this service as you possibly can. -

its very limited to a basic chat, video only last about 10 seconds. The company give no support on the website nor do the respond to you via email. Information about the program is very limited until you install and mess with it
Summary
USE SKYPE if you want to video chat with people you already know. if you are the stranger looking for stranger this this is ok but you wont be able to see the video
