At first glance it may seem as though Cameleon is simply a file browser for themes and templates. However, first impressions are not always reliable.

Cameleon was created to simplify your workflow when modifying web themes (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Xoops, etc.) and web site templates. Cameleon's unified interface gives easy access to all the files within a theme or template.

With text files (html, css, php, xml, plist, etc.) you can edit them directly in Cameleon or, if you wish, you can open the text files in the text editor of your choice for a particular file type.

One of the most useful image manipulation features is Cameleon's ability to replace theme or template images (jpg, gif, png, tiff, etc.) with drag and drop. Dropped images can be automatically resized to match the dimensions of the images they are replacing.

Other handy features include:

• search and replace strings withing textfiles within Cameleon
• minimize desktop clutter
• search name, contents, or both of all text files of a theme or template with one click
• built in web browser for previewing html files
